Asher hit the ground, rolled twice, and pushed himself back up fast. The dragon didn't give him a second. It turned and snapped at him again, jaws closing with a loud crack.
Asher jumped back, barely clearing the bite.
The Knight rushed in to take pressure off him. It slammed its shoulder into the dragon's side, making the beast shift its weight. The dragon swung its claw down in response, slashing deep into the Knight's armor and sending sparks everywhere. The Knight staggered but didn't fall.
Asher ran in from behind and hammered his fist into the base of the dragon's neck. The hit made the dragon lower its head for a moment, giving the Knight room to breathe.
The dragon retaliated immediately. It twisted its body and swept its wing sideways like a giant blade. The Knight jumped back, but Asher took the hit on his shoulder. The impact threw him across the floor, his back scraping against broken stone.
He got up again with a grunt.
"Alright… that hurt."
