The shift was gradual at first—almost invisible. Meetings grew quieter in a different way. Not from hesitation, but from listening. People began to ask better questions before offering confident answers. Reports included not only results, but the reasoning behind choices, the assumptions made, and the risks knowingly accepted.

Blame lost some of its power.

When something failed, the first question was no longer "Who caused this?" but "What did we miss?" The distinction mattered. It redirected attention from defending reputations to strengthening systems. Accountability did not disappear; it deepened. Owning a mistake became a sign of reliability rather than weakness.

Leaders adapted as well.
