Chapter 34 - Cause and Effect

The three stared at each other.

 Or rather at him, since they both must have reacquainted.

 Drey smiled, speaking up first.

 "Oh.

It's a surprise to see you too, I did not think that you could have been alive till this point. Honestly, I thought you must be dead."

 Ikemefuna smiled grimly, unable to stop the scene of Drey's chilling gaze popping into his mind.

 "Yes, I myself thought that too. But look at me now— I'm alive aren't I"

 He paused, watching as Drey began studying him closely. It caused an uncomfortable feeling, and it grew more as Drey's eyes unceremoniously traced down his body.

"I see that.

"And apart from a few scratches here and there, you are unhurt"

 He winked.

"You must be quite capable for you to escape the Phantosia's grasp like this."

 Ikem's smile turned modest, though he chose not to speak.

 Rather he pointed at Drey, with a curious look,

"Enough about me though, why are you like this, tied up and stuff"
