Faye entered the white space and took a deep, shuddering breath.
"Get it together, coward." She mumbled quietly, her brows knitted together in confusion as she worked her way through the unfamiliar command screens.
Ignoring the list of complicated and high end selections of weaponry, she chose a simple rifle; something familiar that she wouldn't struggle to activate and summoned it before the simulation even began, clutching it tightly to her chest as the white space disappeared.

Faye knew that she wasn't about to display any spectacular feats of skill or unexplainable strength, she wasn't even sure if she would be able to fire her weapon when she saw the opponent begin to materialise.
But at the moment that she realised that it was the same creature whose eerie screeches haunted her nightmares, all she wanted to do was quiet that desperate, agonising voice:
'I don't want to die.'
