"You're not very old, but your arrogance certainly is!" Victor sneered. Even in his prime, he wouldn't have dared claim invincibility.

Chris was a junior - talented, certainly, but in Pokémon breeding. When it came to actual combat, even with childhood training, a twenty-year-old was barely more than a novice compared to him.

Besides, everyone had their childhood disciplines.

After speaking, Victor stepped forward, his fists enveloped in light blue energy - the power of Aura. He couldn't wait to teach this presumptuous young man a lesson about knowing one's place in the world!

Extending his hand, Chris gestured lightly toward Victor.

"Whoooosh!"

A fierce gust of wind roared forth.

The violent windstorm formed an invisible barrier blocking Victor's advance. No matter how much strength he exerted, he couldn't progress another step.

"You're a psychic!" Victor looked at Chris in surprise, suddenly understanding where the young man's confidence originated.

"That's right," Chris replied, spreading his hands. Controlling wind came from Rayquaza's power within the Jade Orb.

If pressed to explain his abilities, it would be his capacity to summon legendary power.

"BOOM!"

Suddenly, a rock pillar erupted from the ground behind Chris, shooting upward to impale him from behind.

Without turning his head, Chris simply raised his foot and stomped down.

"BOOM!"

The entire island shuddered violently under that single step, and even the surrounding ocean trembled.

Sorry, I haven't given the Red Orb to Garchomp today. Groudon's earth power is still within me.

"Now I understand why you're called both a Ground-type and Fighting-type Elite. Beyond being born into a martial arts family, you've always been a psychic," Chris observed.

The rock spike hadn't been a sneak attack from one of Victor's Pokémon. The power source was Victor himself.

Victor didn't respond, standing there in stunned silence, staring at Chris in astonishment.

This guy... this guy can shake an entire island...

What terrifying power is this?

At seventy years old, Victor believed he'd witnessed every incredible thing this world had to offer. Few things could surprise him anymore.

But looking at this...

Is he human, or a Pokémon? Or a Pokémon wearing human skin?

Has a Ditto invaded the world? But his eyes aren't beady either...

Just as Victor's thoughts wandered into rare speculation, a Lucario suddenly flew from the distance, landing beside him like a discarded rag doll. It rolled several times before stopping, eyes showing swirl patterns - its fighting ability completely gone.

As Lucario's opponent, Greninja approached slowly from afar, completely unscathed without even mud on its body.

Apparently, this Lucario hadn't posed much threat to its opponent.

"That... quickly?" Victor remembered the battle between Lucario and Greninja had lasted less than two minutes.

It's already over?

Of course, this wasn't the end - Lucario's defeat was just the beginning.

Gallade had been pinned to the ground by Gardevoir's overwhelming psychic force, already driven into a crater three meters wide and deep.

An earth tremor delivered the defeated Kommo-o in front of Victor as Garchomp emerged from the mist, its sharp, fierce golden dragon eyes growing more menacing by the moment.

Close combat? Kommo-o picked the wrong opponent.

Zeraora had also finished its battle.

The Totem Hariyama was indeed unmatched in strength, one of Victor's trump cards with superb combat experience and awareness.

But fighting against the speed-oriented Zeraora, its body couldn't provide adequate reactions to dodge effectively.

Soon, Totem Hariyama's body was covered in wounds. When the accumulated damage became unbearable, it naturally lost its fighting ability.

The massive form crashed to the ground, creating cracks extending a hundred meters in all directions.

"Wooooob-buffet!" Wobbuffet remained polite, squinting while offering a sideways salute to Chris, as if reporting its opponent's defeat.

Mamoswine, hill-sized, lay prostrate before Wobbuffet, limply collapsed with rolling eyes and foam at the corners of its mouth.

Unlike other Pokémon who were simply defeated, Mamoswine had repeatedly used Take Down against Wobbuffet, receiving double the force in return through Counter. After just a few impacts, its head was completely overwhelmed.

"THUD!" A final crash sounded.

Rock fortress Rhyperior had fallen from its self-created pillar.

It had been bombarded by an attack it was extremely proficient with - Hyper Beam. Despite its size and the move's reduced effectiveness, being blasted off the rock pillar had eliminated its fighting ability.

The perpetrator was, naturally, the opponent determined from the battle's beginning - Red Gyarados.

So far, Chris and Victor had barely begun their confrontation, not even exchanging complete moves. Yet Victor's entire Pokémon army had been annihilated.

"Seems your old partners didn't buy you much time," Chris said calmly, hooking his foot to create a rock throne behind him.

"So, will you concede?"

Victor stood before Chris in stunned silence, his slightly clouded eyes reflecting an awe-inspiring scene.

Chris sat upon the rock throne with emperor-like indifference, surrounded by storms. Heavy rain fell from the sky above, yet not a single drop touched his hair.

Red Gyarados descended from above, its hideous face positioned beside Chris's throne.

Greninja leaned against the throne's back, eyes fixed on Victor, ready to strike instantly.

Zeraora crouched atop the throne, regarding him with curious eyes.

Gardevoir stood like an elegant secretary beside Chris, hands smoothing her dress.

Garchomp positioned itself before Chris - a conquering general whose fierce dragon eyes radiated dangerous aura, ready to strike violently at a single command.

If Garchomp was the killing general, then Wobbuffet served as imperial bodyguard. Its somewhat comical blue form continued saluting, but only those who understood Mamoswine's Take Down power could appreciate Wobbuffet's incredible durability.

This scene branded itself into Victor's mind like hot iron. He swore that even in death, he would never forget such a shocking sight.

"I surrender."
