"Mr. Kira, why did you ask me to come here?"
In a small room, He Kui looked at the young man in front of him and asked.
"You and Cagalli..."
Kira's expression was somewhat strange as he spoke.
"Something like that."
"But I don't think this relationship will affect Cagalli's judgment."
He Kui said.
"Hmm."
Kira was cut off by He Kui before he could finish, and his face showed a hint of awkwardness.
"...Then you must have a fiancée, right?"
"Yes, and Cagalli knows about it."
"..."
Once again, He Kui had anticipated what Kira was going to say, leaving Kira at a loss for words.
But knowing this, should they be considered open-minded or just playing around? "Well, I've answered your questions. Kira, what's your relationship with Cagalli?"
Hearing this, Kira's lips twitched, unsure of how to respond.
After all, the fact that they were siblings was somewhat of a secret.
While Cagalli didn't seem to care much, his own background was far from simple.
Thinking of Uzumi's warnings before he left, Kira's expression became more serious.
"I'm sorry, but I can't say."
"Alright then."
It seemed Kira already knew he was a Super Coordinator?
But this didn't affect his plans. He just hoped they could deal with Creuset directly this time.
It would be best to take down the library in one fell swoop.
He hoped there wouldn't be any strange Clones appearing.
But with Creuset on the other side, if they were truly insane enough to mass-produce Creuset... Thinking of this, He Kui's sense of urgency grew even stronger.
"If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now."
Looking at Kira, He Kui smiled warmly. He still had to upgrade Xiao Liu and fine-tune the Aegis, which was about to depart for Mendel.
There was still a lot of work he needed to complete.
Hearing this, Kira didn't try to stop him. He also needed to prepare.
As for Cagalli, she was always strong-willed. Even if he tried to persuade her, it probably wouldn't work. He could only find an opportunity to talk to her later.
And so, the two went their separate ways.
However, just as Kira opened the door, he saw a girl standing outside. She was one of the researchers from PLANT.
Was her name Sulei? "Little girl, are you looking for He Kui?"
"..."
Sulei, who had been planning to enjoy some gossip, turned red upon being called "little girl."
"I'm not a little girl!"
In PLANT, everyone knew her, and no one called her "little girl." Now, suddenly being addressed this way, Sulei became flustered.
"Alright, this is Director Sulei. She's indeed not a little girl, just looks young."
He Kui, who had followed Kira out of the room, couldn't help but chuckle as he looked at the flustered girl.
"Sorry..."
Kira's face showed a hint of apology, but he didn't notice the overly familiar tone between He Kui and Sulei.
In fact, if it weren't for Mu's reminder, Kira wouldn't have noticed anything unusual between He Kui and Cagalli.
"By the way, Kira, do you have someone you like?"
"Ah..."
Kira was momentarily stunned by the question, then blushed slightly and nodded.
"Yes..."
"Then I look forward to meeting them someday."
With that, He Kui left the room with Sulei.
"What did you say to him? He didn't hit you, did he?"
Having heard He Kui's earlier question and realizing her misunderstanding, Sulei asked curiously.
"Hit me? That's Cagalli's twin."
"Twins?!"
Sulei was startled by He Kui's words.
"They don't look alike?"
"Well, even if they're fraternal twins, the difference shouldn't be that obvious."
Their hair colors were completely different.
"That's because one is a Coordinator and the other is a Natural."
"Who would do such a thing? And how do you know?"
Sensing that this matter was far more complicated than it seemed, Sulei asked curiously.
"I have my sources."
"Fine, keep your secrets."
Sulei rolled her eyes at He Kui but didn't press further.
He Kui had too many secrets, and she didn't feel like digging into them.
"Let's get to work. We still need to repair your little robot."
As they spoke, the two headed in a different direction from Kira.
Time flew by, and although the unchanging scenery outside the window made it hard to tell whether it was night or morning, it was indeed nighttime in Orb.
In the dimly lit hangar, only emergency lights were on. Kira, piloting the Warrior, and Mu, piloting the Strike with the Lightning Backpack, quietly left the DSSD port.
"They said they were going on patrol and have already left."
Serena hung up her communicator and turned to He Kui in the secret hangar of the Stargazer.
"Good, let's get started."
The console for developing the Stargazer had been modified into a control node for the Aegis.
However, the main control signal still came from the asteroid.
While this method consumed more energy, it simplified the process significantly. The machines here only needed to act as nodes, making things much more convenient.
Meanwhile, the Aegis, which had been on standby at the secret port near Mendel, was now on its way, riding a small, arrow-shaped single-person spacecraft.
"Are they really going to be okay with just the two of them?"
Sulei asked, watching the faint glow of the thrusters on the screen.
If He Kui was right, this was Creuset's trap.
"How do you know it's just the two of them?"
He Kui chuckled.
"Orb has Mirage particles too."
This time, they might be trying to catch Creuset and the forces behind him.
"Then why are we going?"
"Because we might find some answers there."
He Kui recalled his previous trip to Mendel with Serena. It hadn't been much different from this one.
However, they had only explored Dr. Hibiki's research area.
That research facility was about the same size as the Integrated Design Bureau, with numerous research projects and facilities besides Dr. Hibiki's.
Perhaps they could find clues about Lacus and Setona.
"Answers, huh..."
Sulei shrugged, not fully understanding. He Kui was always speaking in riddles, but she was used to it by now.
After flying through the vast expanse of space for a while, the massive satellite of Mendel gradually came into view.
"There's no heat signature nearby, but our radar isn't as advanced as those on MS or battleships."
Sulei observed the radar screen.
"Let's land."
Looking at the desolate scenery inside, He Kui maneuvered the Mobile Suit like an arrow, entering Mendel through the emergency maintenance channel.
The sky, as dim and sallow as twilight, exuded an ominous aura.
"Nothing has changed here," He Kui sighed as he gazed at the scenery, which remained the same as when he had last visited.
"Not many people come here, after all. The last time was probably when some junk dealers passed through," Serena remarked.
Just as she finished speaking, a sharp alarm blared from the control console.
"Combat heat signature ahead!" Sulei shouted.
