Chapter 11 - The Journey Begins

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the Forest of Spirits, where the air was thick with anticipation.

Liu Erlong, Liu Cheng, their mother Liu Yan, and their aunt Zhang Qiu stood at the forest's edge, ready to embark on their quest. The rustling of leaves and the distant calls of wildlife created a symphony that echoed their excitement.

"Remember, the soul rings we seek must resonate with your Wuhun and reflect your fire affinity," Zhang Qiu instructed, her voice steady and reassuring.

Her experience as a seasoned soul master lent weight to her words, and the siblings nodded in agreement, their hearts set on the task ahead.

As they stepped into the forest, the towering trees loomed overhead, their branches intertwining to form a natural canopy. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating a dappled effect on the forest floor, which was carpeted with vibrant flora.

Liu Cheng, inspired by his sister's enthusiasm, looked around with determination. "Let's find soul beasts that embody the dragon bloodline. We need to strengthen our connection to our Wuhun."

The group moved forward, their footsteps light yet purposeful. The deeper they ventured into the forest, the more the air crackled with energy.

Suddenly, Zhang Qiu turned to Liu Cheng, her brow furrowed in thought. "Cheng, brat, what age of dragon soul beasts do you think we need?"

Liu Cheng paused, considering her question carefully. "Not particularly dragon soul beasts. As long as a soul beast has a trace of dragon bloodline or another higher-quality bloodline, it is suitable.

As for age, Liu Erlong is the weakest among us. Even though the rest of us have been practicing hard, she is still stronger than others at the same level. I think we should aim for a soul ring around 600 to 700 years for her."

Zhang Qiu raised an eyebrow, her expression shifting to one of caution. "Cheng, let me remind you that in soul rings, not only age matters, but also the soul beast's bloodlines and their quality.

A ten-year tiger can easily overpower a 300-year rabbit soul beast. Do you really think Erlong can absorb a 700+ year soul ring, especially one from a dragon bloodline soul beast?"

Liu Cheng shook his head, confident in his reasoning. "That may be true for ordinary soul masters, but for geniuses, it's different. As long as they hone their bodies, they can absorb higher-level soul rings within the same level.

Erlong's innate soul power is nearly 10, and her Wuhun is a fire attribute dragon, known for its strength and defense. She has been practicing for more than a month, so it should be no problem for her to absorb a high-quality soul ring."

Zhang Qiu sighed, knowing her nephew's determination was unwavering. "Let's ask Erlong if she's willing first," she suggested, turning to her niece.

"I believe in brother Cheng," Liu Erlong said, her voice steady and filled with conviction. She had always looked up to her brother, finding strength in his unwavering belief in her abilities.

Zhang Qiu turned to Liu Yan, who had been quietly observing the exchange. "Sister Yan, your son is a monster. Let's do as he says."

Liu Yan nodded in agreement, her heart swelling with pride for her children. "If Erlong believes in Cheng, then I trust their judgment. But we must remain cautious. The forest is filled with dangers, and we cannot underestimate the soul beasts we might encounter."

With their decision made, the group pressed deeper into the forest. The atmosphere shifted as they moved further from the light, shadows dancing around them. The sounds of nature became more pronounced, each rustle and call echoing in the stillness.

"Stay alert," Zhang Qiu reminded them, her senses heightened. "We may encounter soul beasts at any moment."

After what felt like hours of trekking through the dense underbrush, they arrived at a clearing. The air was thick with energy, and a sense of foreboding hung over them. In the center of the clearing stood a magnificent creature—a dragon-like soul beast with shimmering scales that reflected the sunlight in iridescent colors.

"Look!" Liu Cheng exclaimed, pointing at the beast. "That must be a dragon bloodline soul beast!"

Liu Erlong's eyes widened in awe. The creature was both beautiful and terrifying, its presence commanding respect. "It's magnificent," she whispered, feeling a pull towards the beast.

Zhang Qiu stepped forward cautiously, assessing the situation. "We need to approach carefully. This soul beast may be powerful, but it could also be territorial."

As they advanced, the dragon beast turned its gaze towards them, its eyes glinting with intelligence and wariness. The siblings felt a wave of energy wash over them, a mixture of fear and exhilaration. Liu Cheng took a deep breath, steady
