The man let out a low whistle and muttered, "...Now that's some speed."
Though the man was just a clerk, he wasn't ignorant. He knew what it took to push through two ranks that quickly. Unless someone was carrying you, giving you full support, or you had monstrous efficiency... it just wasn't normal.
He gave Michael a look that was a mix of admiration and curiosity. "Are you taking the college exams too?"
Michael nodded again.
The man leaned back and let out a soft breath. "Damn. Guess you're aiming for the Awakeners' Academy, huh?"
The man scratched his chin.
'Well, I suppose it makes sense then. He probably focused everything on rushing his advancement just to meet the benchmark. That would've drained his combat edge, but… that's not my place to say.'
He smiled faintly and didn't press the topic.
Still, he couldn't help but marvel internally.
Three months.
Three.
The man tapped a few more buttons, syncing Michael's ID token with the system.
