Santos had played him there. Elliot quickly locked his eyes on Thiago, Santos' run seemed dangerous to him, he wasn't going to let Santos receive the ball.
He quickly stretched out his body, sliding in front of Thiago and blocking off the pass route between the CB and his striker. But Santos had played his part already, he wouldn't be getting involved until the last dance.
Thiago didn't look up, his eyes was glued to the ball as he sprinted forward, then using the inside of his boot he released an outside curving pass towards Marco Estrella who had opened up. Sterling followed Marco up brilliantly, blocking off the winger's path as he ran ahead of him diligently.
But Estrella was equally as brilliant a winger. Sterling could never outpace him. Sterling's face tensed up as Estrella had quickly closed the distance, still running at the ball. Sterling shot forward, attempting to grab the ball with his legs but at the last moment, the ball curved away.
