Chapter 216 - Second Half Progress

The celebrations soon died down and the whistle sounded, Real Madrid players resuming play as though nothing had happene.

However, everything had changed, Santos's equalizer had injected new life into Barça, and the next ten minutes would be a crucible of high-octane football, neither side willing to yield an inch.

Ignacio Figueroa rolled the ball to his defender who passed it out to Carlos, and dropped into the back three as a false pivot.

Barcelona's midfield moved forward in response, Elian and Thiago Alarcón immediately closed down the passing lanes, their bodies bent, eyes fixed on every movement from Carlos's feet.

The Catalan crowd cheered fiercely as Santos and Marco Estrella joined the press, closing in around Carlos and forcing him into a hurried passed backwards.
