Chapter 27 - A Secret Between Us

The hands I feared that would decide whether I lose my dignity now or never, were brought to his lips. A sardonic laughter echoed within the four corners of the room afterward. His eyes crinkled until they disappeared. 

Sometimes, people laughed when they couldn't accept the truth, right?

Noir was an example. 

"You think I'll believe that?"

"I did. But looking at you now, I guess I believed in you too much." 

Noir sneered. "Anyone who heard you would have the same reaction as me."

He crossed his legs again, his hands clasped together, cupping his knees.

"Your story just doesn't make sense. In many ways. A vortex filled only with books—could be possible. But how did you get in? How did you get out? How is it that the UAO did not receive any alarm about another vortex appearing? There are just so many loopholes, newbie."

I sighed. I know. 

"Release me and I will fill those holes one by one."
