"Nothing happens for no reason, Director Ma, what brings you here?"
Ma Shijie, looking somewhat displeased, replied, "Look at what you just said. I really just came to see you, nothing else. Over the years, Mr. Long has helped our police department handle many things we couldn't manage. You used to help too. We are sincerely grateful. Visiting you is well-deserved."
"Don't just stand there, sit down," Gu Lili instructed a servant to bring tea. "Director Ma, you look much more worn out than a few years ago."
"Don't even mention it. There's too much work, too much pressure. I feel like I've aged ten years," Ma Shijie said, rubbing his bald head. "Only this head remains as shiny as ever; the other parts are deteriorating. I see Miss Gu, you haven't changed at all since a few years ago."
"How could there be no change? Taking good care of myself," Gu Lili chuckled lightly. "You haven't been promoted yet?"
