On a police car headed to prison, Han Ruixin and her mother Lin Han huddled together.
Despite the cold handcuffs chafing her wrists red and swollen, Han Ruixin still desperately tried to stand and look outside.
"Stop looking, daughter, no one will come to save us. We've lost," Mrs. Han said, her hair disheveled and her face extraordinarily haggard, as if she had aged twenty years all at once.
Han Ruixin sobbed, "Mommy, I can accept that Brother Chen won't come to save me, but why is Dad and everyone else ignoring us, too?
