Chen Rong walked Yang Peimin home, and then she could get off work. She had two kids at home, but they were both young, the younger being less than a year old, and needed her to coax them to sleep at night.
The walk from school to home was so treacherous for Yang Peimin that she dared not ride a bicycle, so she walked slowly with Chen Rong, taking about half an hour.
First, the two discussed work-related matters, before moving on to family affairs.
Yang Peimin had established a set of regulations in the factory. As long as everyone stayed within the bottom line, everything was negotiable. She didn't need to use distance to command respect, so Chen Rong got along well with her. They had maintained their working relationship for nearly half a year, and so Chen Rong had some understanding of Yang Peimin's character—she was an easy person to get along with.
