Shen Yiguang carried Lele over to them.
Yang Peimin thought Lele seemed taller and thinner, perhaps because she hadn't seen him for a while.
"Lele!"
As soon as Lele saw Yang Peimin, he wanted to pounce over, but Shen Yiguang held him tightly, grabbed a chair, and sat down next to Yang Peimin's bed with Lele in her arms. Shen Yiguang soothed him, "Mama is sick, so we don't need to go over there. We can just stay here and watch, and you can hold her hand."
Lele couldn't quite grasp all of that and flung himself toward Yang Peimin, calling out "Mama, Mama."
This little guy, Lele, could occasionally say "dad" at ten months old, but no matter how Yang Peimin tried to teach him to call her "mama," he just couldn't pick it up. It wasn't until around his first birthday that he finally started to mumble "mama."
