Old Man's house in Beijing was a small courtyard, not far from Zhang Mingliu's home. It had three sections and two small yards, with a well in the front yard. The well water was sweet and clear, very good quality.
The surrounding environment was also very nice. There was a park nearby where many elderly people gathered daily to practice Tai Chi or do morning exercises, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
At that time, Beijing was not yet shrouded in smog. The air was fresh, the environment beautiful, and the pace of life slow, making it indeed a very suitable city for retirement.
