After the storm of rage and passion between us, things began to feel... different. He started sleeping in our bed again, no longer keeping his distance. He kissed me in the hallway, in front of everyone, with an almost possessive pride. The cold distance that once defined our relationship was gone, replaced by something else—something intense and undeniably real. We were a couple again.
But that didn't mean everything was perfect.
Seraphine, that damn vampire, still glared at me whenever she got the chance. It was obvious she hated me, and I couldn't stand her either. Every time she looked at me like that, I would make Damon kiss me, right in front of her, just to mark my territory. I wasn't about to let her think she had any claim on him. Not after everything that had happened between us.
