Chapter 70 - - Revenge and the New Clue

Frizz closely followed the two after they were finished with their meals. His mood soured upon the recognition of these two men. The two carjackers that mugged him from before. With that in mind, he didn't bother to cover his face since he wanted those two to recognize him.

(My phone, keys, and some of my money. They're all worth pennies to me now, but you two made a big mistake. Pissing me off and stealing from me. I won't let you two go away that easily.)

The two carjackers took a left turn, disappearing into an alleyway. Frizz lagged for a moment to avoid raising any suspicions. He then continued down the alleyway, but the two carjackers had disappeared.

Frizz then subconsciously ducked his head, avoiding a direct hit to the back of his head. Alerted, he turned around and spotted the two carjackers who were hiding beneath several piles of trash.

"Impressive. I almost didn't notice. It's hard to discern trash from trash. You two remember me, right?"

The shorter carjacker took out a knife while the taller one revealed a revolver; the two widely grinned while nodding their heads.

"Yeah, we remember you, hospital bitch. You cost us some money. That car was already marked- "

Frizz instantly yanked away the knife and the pistol with great speed, uninterested in their monologues and stories. "AH!" They groaned in pain as they stepped back in surprise while clutching their hands.

"Let me speak plainly. You two will be in a whole lot of pain."

Fizz then clenched his fists, crushing the revolver and the knife in his hands. The two stared with surprise, shocking them even more. Their instincts told them to run, and so they did, but as soon as they turned around. *Thud!*

The two carjackers collapsed on the wet ground. Their vision blurred as they attempted to crawl away, feeling their stomachs churn and their throat burning.

[System]

[Venomous Presence] perk is active.

"P-please. W-we're sorry."

The shorter carjacker pleaded, puking up the meal he had enjoyed earlier. He then collapsed, face first, on his vomit as his breathing hitched.

The taller one turned to face Frizz, who then tried to crawl away while shaking his head and extending his hand. "Please, please. I have a family. I did it for them. They rely on me for support, but I can't get a job because I already have a record in my name."

Frizz paused, feeling a pang of guilt, he breathed hard and shrugged the guilt away. (It's easier if you don't listen to their cries.)

With a single sigh, he repeatedly stomped the two carjackers' legs, fracturing the bones and causing a massive amount of pain.

"AHHH!" "MAMA!" Their cries were loud enough that several concerned bystanders started to approach the darkened alleyway. Frizz glared at the two carjackers who were mumbling and crying.

Sensing that the punishment was thorough and sufficient. Frizz then quickly climbed the walls, leaving the curious bystanders to the two fractured carjackers.

Frizz's cellphone rang; it was Nathaniel.

"Frizz. I've finished analyzing the clue that the vice mayor gave us. I've managed to identify one of the cartel's money couriers."

Nathaniel said, looking at the social media profile of the money courier with a soft grin. "And this time, make sure to get the information you need, then you can kill them. I will send you the information on your phone now."

With a roll of his eyes, Frizz ended the call and checked his phone. Upon receiving the information, he instantly flew away and headed to the given address.

Two hours later...

"Go back and pause." A uniformed personnel member ordered, pointing at the monitor. The person then paused the footage, focusing on the figure of Frizz Jay Sadies.

"That's him, our key witness. We should go, Micah. Let's follow him while the tracks are fresh." Another detective added while snacking on a banana.

"We're going to need a copy of this. Please make one as soon as you can." The uniformed personnel, detective Micah added while giving a thankful tap on the person operating the computer.

"Yes, sir."

His partner then followed him, throwing away the banana peel.

"Let's go now."

Detective Micah paused, looking at his partner. "To where? No one saw him exit the opposite side, nor did those witnesses tending to those two. It's like he vanished, and as always, the victims were puking their guts out." He frustratingly added, staring at the night sky. It looked like it was going to rain.

"We're dealing with a star witness who can sort of inject venom on you."

"Poison, actually." His partner corrected.

"What?"

"Venom is natural, like from snakes and spiders. Poisons are artificial, like cyanide and mercury." His partner added with a slight smug smile, whereas Detective Micah rolled his eyes.

"Did those two not have any relations with the Korique Cartel?"

His partner pulled out a phone, reading the gathered information. "Nope, none whatsoever. Maybe it's a personal vendetta?"

"I don't know how this guy operates. He disappears and reappears somewhere else." Detective Micah added while wiping his sweat away.

"Not to mention beating up several students, causing a massive panic in the school. I've heard that the panic was so bad that they've cancelled classes for tomorrow." His partner remarked.

"Yeah, it seems like he's randomly beating people that he perceives to be horrible. Like some vigilante."

"Those kids deserved it. I hate that school; my niece was bullied so hard that she had to transfer to a different school." His partner commented, disapprovingly shaking his head.

Detective Micah scoffed, then walked away and headed to the police car. He then sighed upon entering the vehicle with his partner. The wild chase for this elusive star witness was mentally draining him since his capture was deemed to be a high priority.

"He's some former convenience store worker on the run from a cartel. How could he have gotten so..." Detective Micah paused, looking for the right word.

"-strong...?"

"Well... hatred. They almost killed his brother. I'm sure he's on some sort of war path." His partner remarked, pulling out another banana.

"A guy like him? It's somehow unbelievable. I can't even rely on my guesses anymore."
