Chapter 88 - - Black Ops IV

"Check this out. It's a foreign gun, you only see this in video games." Nathaniel Macaraeg showed Frizz the AR-15 that he'd looted from an insurgent.

Frizz whistled, impressed with the find. "Wow, how'd they even get that?"

"I know, right. I think outside sources fund these groups." Nathaniel said, searching the downed insurgent's pockets for more loot. Frizz then spotted the bunker entrance, gesturing for Nathaniel to check it out.

The compound that was full of revolutionary life was now quiet and full of sobbing; the remaining insurgents had surrendered and were gathered at their damaged headquarters. Hei de la Roxas guarded these surrendered insurgents while the rest of the Status Quo were busy looting the compound.

The civilian performers kept their mouths shut, bowing their heads as they were aggressively escorted out of the compound by Divine Hesoyam Rosa. "I don't care if your legs are hurting kid, get the fuck out of here now."

Nathaniel squinted his eyes. "I think I saw some of the soldier boys head in here, but it's eerily quiet so far," He added, now equipping the looted AR-15 before entering the bunker.

Frizz was about to follow, but a tingling sensation from the back of his mind stopped him, recognizing that there was danger up ahead.

"Stop." He said to Nathaniel while trying to discern what was ahead. "GET BACK!"

*Boom!* A loud explosion sent the two flying several meters away, crashing through a hut. Nathaniel and Frizz were unhurt, having raised their defenses at the last second.

The rest of the Status Quo was alerted and instantly arrived near the bunker entrance. There were heavy and audible footsteps approaching while a certain aura permeated the air. The unmistakable presence of another leveler.

The group was surprised, finally raising their guards.

"You two okay?" Rylai Capones said, focusing on the bunker entrance.

Justing Hang aimed his anti-tank rifle at the bunker entrance. "Did they send us here to deal with this?"

"What the fuck!? I could've died. That fucking made my hair stand up." Nathaniel said, shoving away the debris and aiming the AR-15 at the bunker entrance, waiting for the culprit to come out.

Frizz flew up in the air, summoning his two baseball bats and pulling out two pipe wrenches from his system inventory. (My intuition is telling me that it won't be a huge threat.)

The smoke cleared from the entrance, and the figure was now visible. It was a man with bandages all over his body, and even his eyes were covered with bandages. The man was holding the decapitated head of the captain and casually threw it to the ground.

"Why do you fight to uphold the old world?" The man asked, finger now pointing at the group.

"We can shape this world in our image, deliver the true revolution. Yet your group would rather fight for this world."

"Shut up, asshole." Rylai barked, tightly gripping her scythe, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

"Monologuing...." Frizz muttered with a sigh, rolling his eyes.

"Hey, guy, it's a six versus one. You can't win this fight. We're a full party and you're just a casual solo." Frizz said, juggling the pipe wrenches and baseball bats.

The man growled with a furious stare, as if the words that came out of Frizz's mouth were the biggest offense that he had heard so far. Frizz was surprised; he wasn't trying to provoke the man. He was trying to dissuade him from fighting.

(Uh oh...) Frizz mused.

"This 'system' is a way for us to change the world. Why not use it to the fullest potential? Communism can never be achieved by any practical means, but when magic is involved, it stands a chance." The man shouted, passionate about his motivation.

"The ability to create something from something. With a single flick of my wrist, I can produce the cleanest water ever. A single chant can grow a vegetable almost instantly. Magical golems that can do the work for us. Think about the utility of our abilities other than combat!" The man was now delivering his speech with hand gestures, maximizing the impact.

"We can eliminate global warming with some ice spells, and we can heal disabilities with our healing spells. Our abilities give us the means to massively alleviate several of humanity's biggest hurdles." The man said as the bandage around his body slowly darkened, blood was seeping out.

"I transformed a poverty-stricken village into a utopia within two months of hard work, and I did it alone." The man ended his rousing speech, now gasping for air.

"All of you are still clinging to the status quo. All of you were nobodies before you had a system. Why would you protect a society that doesn't appreciate who you are?" The man ended his speech with a coarse voice; his throat was dry and sore.

Frizz could feel a minor magical disturbance in the air, lingering around his ears. The man's words were somehow literally piercing his ears.

(Wait a minute, is he using some sort of spell to increase the chances of convincing us? Sneaky piece of crap, as if I am going to fall for your commie spiels.)

"Your speeches do not affect me whatsoever; you have to get through several perks just to even slightly convince me," Frizz added as the pipe wrenches and baseball bats spun with intense speed.

Hei de la Roxas snickered, staring at the captain's decapitated head. "You know you can leave a positive mark on the world without ever being a communist right?"

Justing Hang sighed, having had enough of the dialogue. "Do we kill or capture him?"

"She who strikes first gets the reward," Rylai said, dashing forward with amazing speed.

*Thwack!* The scythe's blade was grabbed by the man, causing his hand to slightly bleed.

"What!?" Rylai grunted before being kicked in the chest and knocked away, crashing through an unfinished wooden statue of the hammer and sickle.

"You piece of shit!" Rylai barked as her chest glowed. "What now?"

*Boom!*

The glow on Rylai's chest intensified and then exploded. The explosion blasted away most of her chest and face, exposing several cracked ribs, two damaged lungs, and a bleeding heart.

The group was shocked beyond belief, terror plastered on their expressions.

"Papa..." Rylai muttered as her lower jaw parted away from her face before collapsing on the ground and bleeding from the neck.
