7th Monday.
"Lets begin." Zeke said. Marker squeaking against the flat alabaster surface of his board. "I didn't explain this to you at the beginning…Despite it being the most fundamental to actually understanding." Squeak. Squeak smear.
"Cuz I'd have focused to much on it and it would've not helped me?" Leroy thought to himself why and how that may not have been the best idea.
"Exactly." He turned on his heel and tapped the board.
On the board was six lines wit the words 'Haki Principles' in the middle. 'Haki-dou' beneath it. The characters '心行道拳' pronounced as 'Xīn Xíng Dào Quán' literally meaning 'Soul walking the way of the fist' or 'The Way of The Will Onto The World'
"Haki Kungfu. Much like normal kungfu. Its not just the way you fight and it principles. But the Philosophy of how to apply it." Zeke explained. There were six words. Three on the top. Three on the bottom.
"I'd usually ask you a question to see if you can guess how these work. But I don't want you to get in your own head." He said as he turned back around. "So I'm going to explain all at once."
"Focus. Awareness of your Haki, your goal. Not Just your dream. But also your Target."
"You must be aware and have dead set focus on what you are doing. What situation you are in. Awareness and foundation in yourself."
"Intent" Squeak Squeak "Your intent to how you want to use your Haki. Its purpose in the moment"
"Haki does not work on its own unless you train it and it becomes like reflex. It can only do that if you know what you want to use it for. In any capacity. Just like how your fist wont connect to a target with out your intent to hit. Neither will your Haki work as you intend."
"Flow." He tossed the marker aside and picked up a copy of it on the boards ledge "Learning how Haki flows through the Body. Haki doesn't come from Organs. But visualizing it moving through them, and what those organs represent, will help you use it efficiently"
"Haki is Physical and Immaterial. It comes from the core of your body and can move through your bodies key points. Visualizing that flow in your minds eye will ease its use."
"Ambition." Smear, squeak squeak. "What brings your Haki into Reality. The Stronger your Ambition, Intellect, Emotions, and Sense of Self; the more potent your Haki. Along your pool of Haki larger."
"A Person who is in control of their emotions, and can use any flare or raw emotion to their advantage. Or those with ego. Those full of themselves. With total complete confidence. Can use and apply haki far easier because it is an extension of that very nature. Growing because of it."
"Presence. Defines how you are aware of yourself, your mindfulness and to and when to use your Haki"
"Much like Focus and Ambition. Presence is all about understanding the moment. Yourself in it."
"Fuel. Different than Flow. But Tied closely to it. This is being aware of how and when to use haki and how much to utilize it efficiently."
"Not how it moves through you. Or how or what youre using it for. But how much of it you're using. Are you using a large amount in all out attacks? Or pacing yourself with weaker applications?"
"Just like when fighting normally…Do you pace yourself or go all out. When. Why and How." Leroy murmured in analysis.
"Percisely. Haki-Dou is exactly this. How, When, Why, What, Where."
8th Friday.
Leroy was deeper into the Forest this time. Using and utilizing what he had learned. Allowing his Haki to flow. Focusing on what he wanted to use it on. The intent behind its use. How much, and when to flare his aura. His ambition repeating again and again 'Get stronger. You'll be the greatest captain to have ever lived!' he said in his mind. Awareness of his surroundings.
10th Monday.
"Haki, before it is even utilized and applied into the specific branches of Haki. Has a multitude of Aspects, Attributes and Abilities." Zeke explained writing out his words.
Behind him. Leroy was in the middle of an Exercise. He kept his legs spread and bent into a squat. Hands held outward. A Horse Pose. This was to increase the mind muscle connection to the application of Haki so that it became second nature with mere intent and want. His aura was flaring around him as he flexed his body and forced it to continue.
"To start. Lets get a few ideas out of the way. Haki grows from the loop of Ambition and Efficiency." He drew a stick figure with a flame in its chest, arrow going up to the brain and then back down looping. Then another with many arrows all throughout the body. "Then this allows the body to have the Haki forced through the body. In its cores and visualization of Accomplishment to utilize the branches.
"This means that when you are in a Life or Death situation. Your Haki can Bloom. Literally exploding. Your body entering a flow state of generation and strengthening. Boosting your strength, ability, efficiency, and can even allow for momentary uses of abilities you don't understand because of your drive and intent for a result its a simple word known as Hakyo"
"I repeat this aspect of flow. Because its necessary for not just using the other branches. But the fundamental abilities of your Aura." Zeke himself was beginning to get in a flow state of explanation and fixation as Connor himself was struggling hard to continue tensing his body and that new 'muscle' of Haki inside him.
"Theres Eight Abilities that Haki on its own can achieve with out ever touching into the branches of the other Cores. All of these require you to properly understand how to use Haki in the First place and int principles." He began writing.
"Reiki, or Aura. This is the actual substance of Haki itself that you see and manipulate. Confusing I know."
"Men. Or Veil…Or Again Aura." He said breathlessly as he rolled his eyes "This is specifically the Act of Covering the body in that sheet of Haki. Just as you are now. Theres an additional aspect of this, known as flare, which is fully utilizing the basic ability of Covering your body. Boosting the body from 100% to 120%."
"Haji. Or Tension. This allows you to 'bind' yourself or 'tighten' yourself to something. Typically the most common aspect is at basic levels, Water. The Haki applying tension to the surface to prevent them from breaking the water. At higher levels. People are known to stand on the air itself and walk on it as if like nothing. With out using strength."
"Han-Or Expansion. This is to grow your Aura beyond Flaring it. Moving it out around you or around the area. It also grants a person a two times boost to their strength, speed, reflexes and power."
"Fukai, Or Suppression. This cuts a persons Haki off completely. Everything radiates even a tiny perceptible amount to the keenly aware and advanced users. But this allows them to be totally invisible to their senses. It also has the added benefit allowing a person to not waste energy, and is known to slow aging."
"Fundo. Or Counterweight. This allows a person to control their momentum and inertia in movement. Allowing them to come to a complete stop instantaneously or redirect their body's position without moving. Say if in mid air."
"Kime. Texture. Everyone's Haki has a Specific feel, a temperament, an attitude and attribute. Even if subtle or minor. This can be felt from a far marking whose who. And can be physically felt as well. A person can manipulate to some extent the feel and texture of their aura. Or imbue emotions into it. I've known people that make their aura 'Sharp' causing their aura to cause cuts on contact."
"Osu or Condensing. You can use unrefined Haki and allow it to be utilized in areas of the body. Serving as a boost to your bodies capabilities. And if pushed through the Cores that Symbolizes the Branches of Haki allow enhancements. Into the Eyes, the Core of Observation, Boosts your senses ten fold or allow you stop hearing or feeling."
"And Finally. Gun. Or Mixture. This is the attribute of literally combining and utilizing Haki Abilities at the same time either to boost one another or to utilize a brand new ability."
"Its even possible for people to develop unique moves that utilize these Mixtures and Combos known as a Kido. It can be anything that mixes and combines Haki together for an effect, rather an Attack or Utility."
"Could…" Leroy began to struggle only to suddenly collapse! Falling to the ground in his supersized baggy shorts and shirt. Body rising and falling quickly as he heaved. "Co- ha…Cou- Oh my lord!" He tried to catch another breath "Could someone…Develop their own unique Usage of Haki?" He asked. Cool sweat beading across his face. Eyes burning.
"Thats known as a Kata."
13th Friday.
"Observation Haki is paramount the Branch of Haki connected to the Core of Sensory organs. Eyes, ears, mouth, hands, nose. But it does not enhance senses of these organs. Theres a difference between visualizing its use to activate the Branch. And actually flowing it. When you do the latter it allows for you easier access of the Ability while also utilizing base enhancement."
In one of the previous weeks. Zeke made an off handed remark that even the most basic of fighters have Observation and Armament. And typically a third. Rather a Konseki or Conduit ability.
Zeke was in the middle of shooting a pistol at Leroy. It did no damage. Didn't even activate his rubber flesh. It merely shattered on impact. The point was to use the most basic speed and reflexes to sense it without perceiving it. Hoping to force the usage of Danger Sensing.
"Agh." Leroy flinced as he heard the sound. He dodged some of them. But simply because he was too fast, flinch to duck. He couldn't see because he was turned facing away from Zeke.
"You can see through walls. Sense a person Emotions. Their intention. Incoming Danger before it even happens. You can see a persons aura, allowing you spot specific people by their unique visual aura traits through walls. You can sense the strength of a person. Not just a guess. But an accurate assessment. Not tied to a number. But tied to a concrete feeling based on their strength, not just compared to you. But as they stand amongst the world."
Leroy was blind folded and sent as deep into the Forest as Possible. It was meant to force his Haki to utilize and Awaken the Core of Observation which was sat in the eyes and sensory organs. Leroy was flowing his Aura into his eyes. Into his ears. His nose. It made his covered sight absorb much more of the light. His nose being able to determine a variety of aromas. And make out a dozen different sounds that was nearly over stimulating. This was not Observation Haki. Flowing Aura into the core allowed for a augmentation of the body. But not the true ability of the Core itself. Danger Sense, Proximity Awareness, Aura of others.
"Fuck me…" Leroy grimaced as he waved his hands through the air. Trying his best to feel out the places around him. Suddenly– he slammed into a tree! Nose busting a vessel as blood began to leak!
"Ah fuck! Fuck that!" He tore the blind fold off. His eyes visible with a misty smoke from the aura funneled through the organs.
15th Wednesday.
Massive weight at over a quarter million tons slammed into the ground the bar rack as Leroy reracked. He'd repped over 8 bench presses of the massive amounts of weight. He sat up quickly. Blood rushing to his head.
"Good! Your progressing faster and faster! You just broke your first bench PR!" Arnie declared. Clapping his hand on the Mans back.
Later.
"As I've mentioned. Haki has 5 Branches. 5 Cores in the Body. 5 Abilities to understand and utilize." He drew on the white board. "Each of them are tied to an aspect of the body and soul. Its relation to the world." He drew a pentagon. Each point connected to a circle. And above each side, a triangle denoting direction.
From the top point and going clockwise was, Armament, Conduit, Observation, Conquerors, Firmament before ending back at the first with Armament again.
"Every Branch becomes more abstract and metaphysical in nature. Disconnected from the physical material body, and tied closer to immaterial and potentialities. When going clockwise. Going counter clockwise, the more Physical and Material it gets."
"However notice the chart. It shows how the Branches shifts and transitions into the next aspect on the chart. This tells you how certain branches are purely one thing, but the more advanced you get with it. The more it moves into the other aspects."
Armament is Physical, but could become Tangible. Conduit is physical, but can become mental, observation is mental. But can move into spiritual. Conquerors from Spiritual to Abstract. And firmament from abstract to tangible.
"Armament is a Purely Tangible ability. It is about offense, defense, power, and strength., As well as how you can use it in conflict against the Physical world around. Armor. Power Compression. Force Amplification. Interaction with the immaterial."
"Conduit is Purely Physical. Perhaps not Tangible. But does interact with the world around you. It is the Branch of Flows. Positive and Negative. Highs and Lows. Growth and Decay. From being able to heal wounds, to being able to control the elements and generate them."
"Observation is purely mental. As I've mentioned. Sensing. Detection. Your Surroundings. The Environment and structures around. See the Future. Predict events."
"Conquerors is Purely Spiritual. It is your primacy over yourself and the surroundings around you. This can be from your body, to the wills of other people. Overwhelming them. Your sheer presence and strength of your soul. Not just how much you have."
"Waves of Pressure. Overwhelming the functions of a body. It was long thought people could only be born with Conquerors or needed to have strong ambitions to have it. But the truth is. Anyone extraordinary strong has Conqueror's Haki. Because it is the Exertion and Manifestation of their strength to their surroundings. It just so happens that those with strong Ambitions or Born with it tend to use it the easiest."
"Firmament is Purely Abstract. The Shaping. Creation. Manipulation.And Projection of Aura."
"Some can make simple constructions out of their aura. Others use it to expel attacks in the form of projectiles or waves. I've seen energy beams. Spheres of glowing Aura. But firmaments true prowess comes from Konseki. Or Reqia; As I've mentioned before."
"The creation and usage of a your Aura to apply properties to your aura, rules, ideas, generating a Power unique to you. My Flower of Battle is a Konseki. Which literally means Soul Gem. As thats what it embodies. Your soul, crystalized into a weapon."
"Beyond that– Kido and Kata, these are abilities you create. You devise. And it requires the concept of Kyoshin."
"Kyoshin can be applied to any of the Branches. Any of the Abilities; To come up with Kata or Kido. But most commonly Konseki. It is the research, study, testing, training and understanding of what you are wanting to accomplish. You cannot just create anything you want. It requires a deeply involved process of what is best fit for you"
"Based on who you are and your goals. It is possible for a Konseki, Kido or Kata to awaken at random in times of Stress as I mentioned with Haki Bloom. But these are instinctual rather than planned and Manufactured. Tending to be harder to develop and manipulate."
"Then again. You can always come up with Vows." Zeke rolled his eyes. "But thats a whole nother thing entirely." He smirks. But Leroy suddenly exploded.
"Wait! No, tell me! Please!" He pleaded.
"Okay, okay! In short. A vow is a promise and self imposed rule you put onto yourself. Its unable to be made unless you genuinely think the trade off is worth it or necessary! I have vows myself. I gain a boost in awareness and precision at the of my power around my blade getting weakened."
"Wait…Hows that work? Whats causing it?!" Leroy questioned.
"Simple. Its Haki. Remember the Principles. It doesn't just apply to how you use it. But how you use it on yourself."
