The night was silent.
The moon has already appeared in the vast sky, shining brightly as it's white and gentle light enters the window of a room. The ornaments, herbs, and jars full of medicine was enveloped by this gentle light coming from the window.
The room is quiet and only the sound of the brushing leaves from the gentle wind can be heard. This sound alone is enough for a man who sleeps deeply wakes up from his long nap.
Lianhua who is still lying on his bed, slowly opened his eyes. Once he fully opened them, he turns to his right where the window is located and just stares outside, with no idea of what happened to him hours ago. As he gazes at the night sky while laying on his bed, something came up to his mind and so, he suddenly gets out of his bed and rushed to the window and looks up to the sky confused.
"W-why is the moon still up there? Shouldn't the sun supposed to be in the sky right now instead of the moon? Wait, did I only slept for just an hour? Am I having mental health problems?" Lianhua is so confused that he starts to wonder why his head is hurting a little bit.
In the side of the bed, Xiao Li Zi and Yu Chen Is sleeping while sitting on a small chair with their head resting on their arms on top of the bed. It seems like they've been waiting for Lianhua to wake up.
Xiao Li Zi woke up from the sudden noise and noticed that the bed is empty. He called out Lianhua's name and for a few seconds, he saw Lianhua standing beside the window.
"Lianhua..? Are you up?" He asked. He slowly stands up and walked towards Lianhua.
Lianhua looked to the person who just called him "Xiao Li Zi? Why are you here? Didn't you stayed in the.....wait, why is Yu Chen here too?? What is going on??" Lianhua is so confused he forgot about the headache.
"Umm.... didn't you just passed out hours ago?" Xiao Li Zi was shocked and suspects that Lianhua couldn't remember anything that happens hours ago.
"Wait....I passed...out? So that explains this headache right now." Xiao Li Zi still couldn't understand and looks up to the sky. He suddenly remembered something.
"Isn't it supposed to be daytime right now? Did I only slept for an hour?" He is so confused and and starts to think that maybe he didn't sleep well.
Xiao Li Zi guessed right. Lianhua couldn't remember anything that happened to him.
"Well, how do I put this...." Xiao Li Zi doesn't know where to start.
Lianhua looked at Xiao Li Zi curiously as if wanting to know more.
He decided to tell him what he saw, and it's for the better."When we entered your house, me and Yu Chen saw you.....on the floor unconscious and your body is full of sweats. Lianhua, do you recall anything before? Anything that happened around that time?" Xiao Li Zi asked.
Lianhua is speechless. It seems that he remembers now. The sudden headache after waking up, and how he couldn't shout for help, and could only stare at the door that is closed tightly. He sure doesn't want to experience it again and suffer.
The atmosphere suddenly changed and this topic right now is very serious and not what he expected it to be.
Xiao Li Zi wanted to ask again "By the way, do you still remember what you said to me that time?"
This time, Lianhua did not remember anything about this. "What do you mean? Wait, what did I say? Tell me more about it!"
Lianhua is so eager to know that he started to approached Xiao Li Zi.
"W-wait! So you don't remember anything?"
All of this is too sudden and he didn't let Lianhua get too close to him.
"No..." Lianhua finally stopped and looked down.
Xiao Li Zi felt bad all of a sudden "Well it's nothing important. And even if you recalled anything back then, it's no important use to you." Xiao Li Zi actually wanted to know more but is scared of asking Lianhua. And it seems like Lianhua didn't remember or recall anything from their conversation before.Those scenes before him is a memory where he dare not go back to where he saw Lianhua in a poor, broken, and helpless state.
"The headache did not disappear." Lianhua utterred as he slowly massaged his head. "The pain may reduced a bit but it is still there and that doesn't mean I'm fine now. I have to make another medicine..." Lianhua walked to his table and and starts collects the ingredients for the medicine.
"Wait, you just knew about the headache?" Xiao Li Zi curiously asks because he thought Lianhua is already aware of the headache.
"...yes. I've had headaches before, I mean we all do, sometimes, but this one....is a lot worser compared to the ones I have before."
Lianhua started grind the herbs he collected.
Although he always does this process, his action is somewhat slower and obviously shows that Lianhua is indeed still suffering and is currently weak right now.
Xiao Li Zi approached Lianhua and wanting to help him. "Leave the rest to me and go back to bed. I'll give you the medicine in the morning."
Xiao Li Zi was about to reach for the pestle Lianhua used but suddenly, Lianhua held his hand, not to stop him but for his uncertainty of doing so.
"Can I.....trust you with this?" Lianhua asked as he slowly grips Xiao Li Zi's hand.
Both made eye contact to one another. Xiao Li Zi wants to look away but doesn't want to at the same time.
"Sure. I know how to grind herbs. Swords are not the only thing that I know. I am very flexible you know." he smiled.
Lianhua looked away and let go of Xiao Li Zi's hand. "You know that's not what I'm talking about. There is still a part of me that is still suspicious of you and your senior brother. Don't get me wrong, It's my first time being visited by the disciples from a clan that is from the central plains." He turned away.
Lianhua walked to his bed and laid down softly to avoid waking Yu Chen.
Xiao Li Zi stares at Lianhua who is now sleeping. He wonders, why do I feel weird whenever I see him? He decided not to think further and starts to grind the herbs.
