Chapter 526: Zhu Li's Plea, Refining the Dragon Phoenix Crystal Layer

Passing through the spatial rift torn open by Hei Qing, a powerful member of the Ancient Void Dragon clan, Mo Yu suddenly found himself in a world of bright light.
Before him was a lush, green paradise filled with towering mountains. From high in the air, Mo Yu curiously observed the massive island below, a colossal floating landmass. The island was immense, and above it, a faint silver, bowl-shaped barrier descended, enveloping the entire island.
Beyond the barrier, the space was a terrifying void, a pitch-black expanse that could freeze one's soul.
The island was floating within a void space!
"No wonder they call it Ancient Dragon Island," Mo Yu thought, his expression tightening in awe at the magnificent sight.
"Follow me," Hei Qing said as he glanced down below. With a wave of his hand, he began descending toward a specific part of the island, and Mo Yu and Qing Lin quickly followed.
"Young Master, the aura here is terrifying," Qing Lin whispered as she stayed close to Mo Yu.
Mo Yu nodded slightly. The Ancient Void Dragon clan was far more powerful than the Flower Sect. It was rumored that no fewer than ten Dou Sheng experts lived on Dragon Island, a truly terrifying force.
The three of them descended toward a massive peak in the center of the island, encountering a few patrolling figures along the way. However, upon seeing Hei Qing, these figures stopped and merely gave Mo Yu and Qing Lin curious glances before stepping aside.
When they landed at the peak, a figure in white robes silently appeared before them. Mo Yu recognized him—it was Zhu Li, the Third Elder of the Ancient Void Dragon clan, whom he had met once before.
"Greetings, Third Elder," Mo Yu politely greeted him.
"Hehe, I hope you don't mind us summoning you so urgently, Mo Yu," the elder said with a smile.
"There's no need to be so formal, Third Elder. Zi Yan is my friend. If she's in trouble, of course, I'd come to help," Mo Yu replied.
Zhu Li smiled and stroked his snow-white beard, but his calm eyes suddenly fell on Qing Lin, who stood behind Mo Yu. His expression shifted slightly, a hint of surprise crossing his face.
"This is... the Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils? And that aura... an Ancient Heavenly Serpent?" Zhu Li's surprise grew, and he muttered, "I never expected there to still be an Ancient Heavenly Serpent soul in the world."
"Third Elder, what exactly happened to Zi Yan?" Mo Yu asked, his eyes narrowing thoughtfully.
At the mention of Zi Yan, Zhu Li turned serious and sighed heavily. "It's all because of the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit."
Mo Yu's expression tightened. He had suspected that the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit wasn't easy to absorb.
"Zi Yan is of the royal bloodline of our Ancient Void Dragon clan. Her father, the former king of our clan, disappeared suddenly, and Zi Yan vanished with him. It wasn't until a few years ago that we sensed her presence again in Central Plains."
"Disappeared?" Mo Yu's eyes narrowed further. He knew where Zi Yan's father, Zhu Kun, had gone, but he couldn't reveal that, as it would raise too many questions.
"After returning to Ancient Dragon Island, Zi Yan began absorbing the Dragon Phoenix Origin Fruit, but the outcome was unexpected. The energy in the fruit was too powerful for her body to fully absorb, and as a result, the energy began to solidify into a physical form," Zhu Li explained.
"Solidify into a physical form?" Qing Lin asked softly, confused by the term.
"Follow me, and you'll see," Zhu Li sighed, leading them to a stone temple atop the mountain. Mo Yu and the others followed closely behind.
After weaving through the temple's inner corridors, they eventually reached a large hall deep within. This hall was made entirely of massive stone blocks, and at its center stood a tall altar. Atop the altar lay a small figure, completely still.
Mo Yu's eyes focused on the figure, and his expression changed slightly.
The figure was completely encased in a strange, crystalline layer, similar to ice. This crystal covered every part of the figure's body, and upon closer inspection, it was clear that not only the outside but even the inside of the body was filled with this crystalline substance.
Zi Yan had been turned into a lifeless crystal figure!
Now, Mo Yu understood why Zhu Li had summoned him—he needed Mo Yu to refine and dissolve the Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer around Zi Yan!
Zhu Li had such faith in Mo Yu because Zi Yan had specifically instructed him to seek Mo Yu's help before losing consciousness. After some thought, Zhu Li agreed, as even he could not fully grasp the extent of Mo Yu's power.
"Refining the Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer won't be easy. It's a time-consuming process and will require an enormous amount of Dou Qi," Zhu Li said after explaining the situation. He reached into his sleeve and pulled out a pale white jade bottle, which he handed to Mo Yu.
"This bottle contains five drops of Ancient Dragon blood essence, personally refined by me. Each drop contains vast energy, enough to instantly restore a large amount of Dou Qi and even strengthen your muscles and bones. If you run low on Dou Qi during the refining process, take one drop."
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow as he sensed the immense energy emanating from the bottle. He knew just how precious Ancient Dragon blood essence was—these five drops alone would be enough to spark a fierce battle between Dou Zun experts.
"This is a serious matter. I won't make any promises, but I'll accept this Ancient Dragon blood essence for now," Mo Yu said, bowing slightly before stepping forward to sit cross-legged in front of Zi Yan.
Zhu Li's face grew solemn as he watched Mo Yu prepare. "The rest is up to you."
Mo Yu stared at Zi Yan's small, crystalline figure with a serious expression. He took a deep breath to calm himself, then slowly opened his mouth.
"Boom!"
A pillar of lightning, tinged with purple, gold, and various other colors, shot out of Mo Yu's mouth. It expanded rapidly, transforming into a massive lightning storm that poured into the crystal layer surrounding Zi Yan.
The appearance of the mysterious lightning instantly made the atmosphere around them violent. Even Hei Qing's expression tightened as he felt the intense pressure. Recalling how Mo Yu had defeated two Heaven Lords from the Soul Hall, Hei Qing realized he likely wasn't a match for this silver-eyed youth.
Mo Yu controlled the lightning with near-perfect precision, gathering it all into a single form. In a matter of moments, a massive lightning dragon took shape inside the hall.
"Roar!"
The lightning dragon let out a deafening roar, shaking the entire hall.
"Refine!" Mo Yu's voice rang out as his hand seals changed.
With that command, the massive lightning dragon charged forward, heading straight for the unconscious Zi Yan.
"Boom, boom, boom!"
The lightning dragon coiled around Zi Yan, unleashing terrifying bolts of lightning that wrapped around her body. Under the relentless attack of the lightning, the Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer began emitting a strange, glowing light, as though it were flowing like a liquid. Terrifying energy waves rippled from it.
Despite the continuous bombardment of lightning, the crystal layer showed no signs of melting.
However, Mo Yu remained calm. If the crystal layer were that easy to refine, Zhu Li wouldn't have needed to call for him in the first place.
Mo Yu's expression remained steady as he closed his eyes, a strange light flickering beneath his eyelids.
"Under the power of Heavenly Thunder, nothing is unbreakable. The Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer is no exception!" he muttered to himself.
With a faint exhale, a surge of wild energy flowed out of Mo Yu.
"Condense!"
With that command, the lightning dragon trembled violently. Its colors began to shift from purple and gold to a strange, pure gold hue.
"Roar!"
Now smaller but denser and more powerful, the golden lightning dragon's energy surged even more violently. The immense heat radiating from it caused even Hei Qing to look uneasy.
"Szzzt!"
Pure golden lightning poured from the dragon's mouth, fiercely adhering to the Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer on Zi Yan's body.
As the two forces collided, a soft hissing sound echoed throughout the hall. Under this intense attack, a single drop of golden-purple liquid began to form on the surface of the crystal.
"The Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer is melting!"
Though the liquid drop was tiny, it did not escape Zhu Li's sharp eyes. His voice trembled with restrained excitement.
More and more powerful members of the Ancient Void Dragon clan arrived, drawn by the scene. They had been extremely worried about Zi Yan's condition, so seeing a human youth successfully refining the crystal layer filled them with joy.

As the blood essence entered his body, Mo Yu's skin radiated a dazzling golden light. The vast energy within the blood essence swept through his body like a storm, instantly replenishing his depleted Dou Qi.
Not only that, but Mo Yu also felt his bones, muscles, and even meridians becoming tougher and stronger under the influence of the blood essence.

During that month, the Ancient Void Dragon clan was overjoyed to see the Dragon Phoenix Crystal layer on Zi Yan's body grow thinner and thinner until it finally disappeared.

However, just as everyone was rejoicing, Zhu Li suddenly sensed something amiss. His furious voice, as loud as thunder, boomed across the void space.
"Xia Ao! How dare you trespass on East Dragon Island!"
As his angry roar echoed through the sky, the entire island was thrown into a state of high alert...
