Chapter 558 - Chapter 558: Accepting Disciples, Setting Off for the Northwestern Continent

Chapter 558: Accepting Disciples, Setting Off for the Northwestern Continent

"The Snake-People Empire is in trouble?" Mo Yu's expression changed as he spoke in a cold tone.

Seeing Mo Yu's sudden shift in mood, Snake Uncle understood, as his own feelings were similarly heavy. The Snake-People Empire was a nation founded by the Snake-People Tribe, who had once lived in the Tagor Desert, with Mo Yu's support. Since Snake Uncle came from the Snake-People Tribe, he naturally had strong ties to the empire as well.

"It's not just the Snake-People Empire. The entire Northwestern Continent seems to be in turmoil," Snake Uncle said, gazing toward the northwest with a long sigh.

"What happened?" Mo Yu seemed to have an idea, while Xiao Yu, standing beside him, quickly asked.

The Jia Ma Empire, Xiao Yu's homeland, was also located on the Northwestern Continent. Hearing this news, her face paled with worry, especially since her Xiao Clan was still in the Jia Ma Empire.

Snake Uncle led Mo Yu and Xiao Yu to a tall tower before explaining, "A year ago, a sect called the Lion Nether Sect suddenly rose to power on the Northwestern Continent and began an aggressive campaign of conquest. Wherever the Lion Nether Sect went, no one could resist them. In less than six months, almost half of the Northwestern Continent fell under their control."

"Lion Nether Sect..." Hearing the name, Mo Yu's suspicions deepened.

Seeing Mo Yu lost in thought, Snake Uncle continued, "The Lion Nether Sect had always been ranked among the top ten sects on the Northwestern Continent, but they weren't invincible. This time, however, their power grew rapidly, and several mysterious and powerful experts appeared among them."

"It's the Soul Hall, isn't it?" Mo Yu said solemnly.

"Yes," Snake Uncle glanced at Mo Yu in surprise before nodding. "According to the intelligence we received, many strong fighters from the Soul Hall have joined the Lion Nether Sect, and they're actively collecting souls. The reason they chose the Northwestern Continent is likely because of its remote location, away from prying eyes."

"Curse that Soul Hall..." Even though Mo Yu knew of the Soul Hall's despicable methods, he couldn't help but curse angrily.

"The chaos in the Northwestern Continent continues to worsen, with the Lion Nether Sect expanding its territory. Wherever they go, those who don't submit are completely wiped out, which has allowed the Soul Hall to gather souls at an alarming rate. To make up for the lack of quality, they're collecting in bulk," Snake Uncle said, casting a glance at Mo Yu. "Fortunately, Cai Lin has been doing well. Over the years, she's continuously strengthened the Snake-People Empire, making it one of the top five powers on the Northwestern Continent. In addition, Xiao Clan's Flame Alliance is also quite powerful. The two forces working together have managed to hold off the Lion Nether Sect's complete takeover."

"However, a few months ago, both the Flame Alliance and the Snake-People Empire had to significantly retreat, barely maintaining the borders of their two nations. That's when we received the intelligence. Little Doctor Immortal and the others hurried to the Snake-People Empire because they knew how important Cai Lin is to you. I also sent some strong experts from Yuan Mansion to support them, but I'm afraid they might not be able to hold off the enemy for long."

Mo Yu nodded slightly, frowning as he said, "It seems I'll have to go back myself."

Cai Lin wasn't just someone important to him; the Snake-People Tribe was also Snake Uncle's family, so abandoning them wasn't an option. Moreover, with the Soul Hall gathering so many souls, Mo Yu was also concerned about how to nourish the Black Lotus Soul Devouring Flame he possessed. Now, the opportunity had presented itself, and he couldn't let the Soul Hall take such a vast amount of soul energy so easily.

Snake Uncle nodded in agreement and said, "When you head to the Northwestern Continent, it's best to take some elders with strength above the Three-Star Dou Zun level with you. As for Yuan Mansion, Qing Zhi and I will remain here to guard it so that the Soul Hall doesn't take advantage of your absence."

Mo Yu found Snake Uncle's arrangement reasonable and agreed.

"As for leaving right away, there's no need to rush. The distance between Central Plains and the Northwestern Continent is too great. If you were to fly, it would take more than two months. Therefore, we'll need to construct a spatial wormhole."

Mo Yu was momentarily surprised but quickly nodded in understanding.

While creating a spatial wormhole was something any Dou Zun could do, establishing one that connected such distant places as Central Plains and the Northwestern Continent required more than just an ordinary Dou Zun's abilities. Fortunately, Snake Uncle was a Semi-Saint. Having a wormhole connecting the two regions would also make future travel much more convenient.

"If I'm not mistaken, the Falling Star Pavilion will also send reinforcements to the Flame Alliance. Most likely, your cousin Xiao Yan will lead them. With the two of you joining forces, cutting off the Soul Hall's claws shouldn't be a problem," Snake Uncle said with a smile.

"Haha, I didn't expect that after so many years, I'd be fighting alongside Cousin Xiao Yan again, and on the Northwestern Continent no less." Mo Yu smiled as he reminisced.

The first time he and Xiao Yan had teamed up was when they stormed the Yun Lan Sect together. It was hard to believe that so many years had passed since then. Back then, both Mo Yu and Xiao Yan were just brash teenagers, only sixteen or seventeen years old. Now, ten years had gone by, and both had grown into powerful leaders.

If Yun Shan, the former leader of the Yun Lan Sect, were to be revived and see them now, he'd surely regret not killing them earlier, or at least regret provoking such terrifying figures.

Mo Yu chuckled at the thought.

"Oh, by the way, there are a few promising young talents in Yuan Mansion. If you're interested, you could take them on as disciples. It would be good for you to have some disciples to represent you, especially since you're rarely in the mansion," Snake Uncle suggested.

"Take on disciples?" Mo Yu was surprised by the suggestion but quickly understood Snake Uncle's reasoning.

Yuan Mansion was growing rapidly, and both the high-ranking members and disciples were mostly newcomers. About seventy percent of the current members were new recruits. Mo Yu, however, was often absent from Yuan Mansion, and many of the elders and disciples had never even seen him. While his strength and reputation made him a natural leader, over time, his absence could cause some issues.

If Mo Yu didn't occupy the position of power, others might try to fill the vacuum.

Since Mo Yu couldn't always be present at Yuan Mansion, and Snake Uncle, being a Semi-Saint, couldn't manage every little detail, taking on a few disciples would be a way to maintain his influence.

As Mo Yu's disciples, they'd naturally be considered his direct line, representing his authority and presence, even when he wasn't around.

"Alright, let's take a look at these promising students," Mo Yu said with a smile after some thought.

Xiao Yu, standing nearby, couldn't help but chuckle quietly. It seemed hard to believe that the boy from Wu Tan City had now grown to the point of accepting disciples...

Inside the Yuan Mansion hall, Mo Yu looked at the three young individuals before him—two boys and one girl—and smiled. "Introduce yourselves."

As he spoke, he sized up the trio.

On the left was a sturdy-looking boy with a simple appearance. He was tall, and his strength had already reached the Three-Star Dou Wang (Battle King) level.

On the right was a cold, unsmiling boy who appeared stronger than the first, having reached the Five-Star Dou Wang level.

In the center stood a young girl dressed in green. Although she still had a bit of youthful innocence, there was no doubt she was a beautiful girl in the making. Once she grew up, she would surely become a stunning woman capable of captivating countless men.

However, her strength was just as remarkable—despite being under seventeen years old, she had already reached the Three-Star Dou Wang level.

Their achievements at such a young age were outstanding, even by Central Plains standards. With enough time, their potential was bound to be terrifying.

"I-I'm Huang Tu, disciple," the sturdy boy said nervously.

"Disciple Xuan Wo Zhu," the cold boy greeted Mo Yu respectfully after glancing at him.

"Disciple Xiang Lin," the green-robed girl said timidly, her face flushed as she spoke.

"Hmm..." Mo Yu nodded after hearing their introductions. He had already learned about these three from Snake Uncle's reports.

Moreover, he knew that despite their exceptional talents, none of them had any significant background. They all came from small families, and Xuan Wo Zhu had even experienced the massacre of his entire clan, leaving him as the sole survivor.

This meant that if Mo Yu took them in, they would be completely loyal to him and Yuan Mansion.

Mo Yu silently appreciated how thoroughly Snake Uncle had prepared everything. He was sure that Snake Uncle had already evaluated their characters, so there was no need for further hesitation.

"Would you three be willing to become my disciples?" Mo Yu asked, looking directly at them.

He had no objection to taking on disciples, especially when they were three top-tier talents. With a bit of guidance, they could become valuable assets.

After all, disciples like Han Feng, who betrayed their masters, were rare.

"Ah..." The three young disciples were stunned, their faces filled with surprise.

Earlier, they had addressed themselves as "disciples" because that was how all young disciples referred to Mo Yu, the lord of Yuan Mansion. But now, Mo Yu was suggesting that he would formally take them as his personal disciples.

It was hard for them to process. After all, Mo Yu's status in Yuan Mansion was almost godlike.

But it didn't take long for Xuan Wo Zhu to react. His eyes flickered, and he quickly said, "Disciple is willing!"

Mo Yu blinked in surprise, narrowing his eyes slightly. He could tell that Xuan Wo Zhu, though young, was the most thoughtful of the three.

Given the blood feud Xuan Wo Zhu carried, Mo Yu understood his response. Anyone who had experienced the extermination of their family would undergo a drastic change in temperament.

In fact, Xuan Wo Zhu might have the greatest potential of the three...

Seeing Xuan Wo Zhu accept, Huang Tu and Xiang Lin quickly followed suit, saying, "Disciple is willing!"

Becoming Mo Yu's disciple was the dream of almost every young member of Yuan Mansion. Now that the opportunity was right in front of them, how could they refuse?

"Good. From today on, I am your teacher," Mo Yu said with a nod, before adding, "Huang Tu, you'll be the eldest disciple, Xuan Wo Zhu, you're the second, and Xiang Lin, you'll be the junior sister. Understood?"

"Yes, Teacher!" The three of them responded in unison, though their expressions differed.

Huang Tu patted his chest with a happy smile, while Xuan Wo Zhu, usually cold and reserved, frowned slightly at being made the second disciple. However, seeing Huang Tu's infectious smile, he relaxed a bit and even allowed a small smile to form.

As for Xiang Lin, she pouted slightly at being the youngest disciple, but seeing Mo Yu's serious expression, she didn't dare complain.

Mo Yu shook his head slightly. His three new disciples certainly had very different personalities.

"These are your welcome gifts. Your task is to use the resources in the rings to strengthen yourselves. Now, unless there's something else, you may leave," Mo Yu said, tossing each of them a storage ring.

Each of Mo Yu's three disciples had different elemental affinities: Huang Tu with earth, Xuan Wo Zhu with lightning, and Xiang Lin with wind. Inside each ring, Mo Yu had placed a high-level Earth-tier technique suited to their attributes, along with other cultivation resources.

Additionally, since Xuan Wo Zhu had the lightning element and Mo Yu had high expectations for him, he gave him a small bolt of "Devouring Origin True Lightning" as a special gift.

"Thank you, Teacher!"

The three disciples beamed with joy as they saw the precious treasures inside their rings, thanking Mo Yu gratefully.

"No need for thanks between teacher and disciples," Mo Yu said with a smile, waving them away.

For the next two weeks, Mo Yu was kept busy with his new disciples. He finally understood the challenges of being a teacher, but fortunately, the three learned quickly, and their bond grew stronger.

Just as Mo Yu was getting used to his new routine, good news arrived: the spatial wormhole connecting Yuan Mansion to the Northwestern Continent had been completed.

When Mo Yu reached the back of Yuan City, he saw a massive, dark wormhole about ten meters wide, slowly forming atop a stone platform on the peak of a mountain. A powerful spatial force surged from within, spreading rapidly across the area.

"Snake Uncle, is it done?"

Mo Yu appeared near the wormhole, smiling as he called out to the familiar figure ahead of him.

"Yes," Snake Uncle smiled as he turned to Mo Yu. "How are those two boys and the girl?"

"Haha, they're doing well. In three to five years, they'll be key pillars of Yuan Mansion," Mo Yu replied with a smile.

"Good to hear," Snake Uncle said, pleased.

As long as Huang Tu, Xuan Wo Zhu, and Xiang Lin matured, even if Mo Yu was often absent from Yuan Mansion, his authority would still be felt.

"Is everyone ready?" Mo Yu asked, turning to the twenty figures behind him.

Each of these figures radiated the aura of a Dou Zun, with the strongest among them nearing the Eight-Star level. They represented half of Yuan Mansion's high-ranking experts. Had Snake Uncle and Qing Zhi not stayed behind to guard Yuan Mansion, Mo Yu wouldn't have dared to bring so many powerful people with him.

"Don't worry, Lord of the Mansion. The forces in that barbaric land are nothing to worry about," the elders responded respectfully.

Mo Yu nodded in satisfaction, then turned to Snake Uncle. "Let's set off."

Seeing everyone ready, Snake Uncle smiled and took a slow step forward, gently waving his sleeve.

With that motion, the space wormhole on the mountaintop began to tremble violently. A powerful spatial force spread outward, accompanied by a low, thunderous rumble that echoed through the heavens and earth.

As the spatial energy surged, the wormhole began to rotate, emitting a faint pulling force from within.

"Mo Yu, here's a spatial scroll. The coordinates on the other side aren't fixed yet. Once you arrive, find a safe place and tear it open. It will form a permanent link between here and there," Snake Uncle explained, flicking his finger and sending a black scroll toward Mo Yu. The scroll was imbued with a terrifying spatial energy.

Mo Yu nodded, catching the scroll and placing it in his storage ring. Then he looked at the spinning wormhole and waved his hand.

"Let's go!"

With that command, Mo Yu's figure shot forward like a silver streak, diving into the dark wormhole.

Behind him, the twenty powerful figures followed closely.
