It wasn't hard to sneak past the security measures in place. Much less for Shawn, who led the way through spots the others didn't even think of, John was glad that ONI had given him Shawn for this mission, and a little unnerved at how easily he was able to stalk through the city.
Shawn lead the way through the docks and into the city, inwardly he marveled at how humanity had managed to hollow out this massive asteroid and turn it into a colony.
He didn't let that distract them as he got them as close as he could to the NAV beacon they put into a crate that was full of luxury goods, all headed to Colonel Watts.
"This is the place, cargo's on the twelfth floor." Shawn said as he stopped in view of the city barracks, from there John took over, leading them into the lobby where they took down several guards with their suppressed machine guns, before moving up the stairs.
Guessing that there would be heavy resistance up top, John and Fred pried open the elevator doors on the ninth floor as they went up the cable.
Reaching the top, John and Fred pried open the doors just enough for the rest of them to gun down the five men waiting by the stairwell with their backs turned to them.
Opening the doors the rest of the way, Blue Team reloaded and grabbed a few things from the downed men before getting ready to breach the Colonels apartment. John broke down the door as Fred and Kelly lay down covering fire, John rushed in as Linda and Shawn covered the back.
"JOHN!" Kelly screamed and Shawn and Linda snapped around to see John take three hits to the abdomen before being able to duck behind cover. Without thinking, Shawn rushed in throwing his knife at one man while charging another, Fred and Kelly filled the last one with lead as John rushed Watts.
Shawn tackled the man to the ground and proceeded to beat him black and blue, almost killing him before Fred shook him. "We have to move, Watts hit the panic button and we're about to have company." Shawn looked to see Kelly applying bio-foam to John's wound as Linda struggled to shove Watts unconscious form into a crate, he went over to help her as Fred went to help John to his feet.
Going over to where his knife was stuck in a mans skull, Shawn ripped it out before putting it away as John limped over with the others. "There's a balcony, on the side of the barracks. Take it down to the street then go back to the docks, I'll meet you there." He didn't wait for them as he charged out, spotting dozens of armed men already approaching.
Taking the elevator shaft, he quickly found the main power generator for the barracks and shot it to pieces, just as John and the others leaped across, and the men entered the building. "What happened to the power?" One asked but his superior told him to shut up and head up the stairs.
Flashlights cut through the dark as they rushed up the stairs, already on edge from the bodies they'd found in the lobby. As they reached the ninth floor, one spotted something in the open elevator shaft, "Look, over there!" He called as the lights turned to show a man, covered in blood, his upper body hanging from the top the the elevator shaft.
"Poor bastard, someone take him down." The officer called as two men walked over to get him down. As they got withing a few feet of him, the body was suddenly yanked up into the elevator shaft. "What the FUCK!" One of them fell flat on his back desperately crawling away as the others jumped, no one had expected that.
Two more rushed forward and they shone their lights up the elevator shaft, empty. "Keep your eyes open, we're not alone here!" The Captain said loudly to cover his own nervousness as they went up to the next floor.
Their skin prickled as unseen eyes stared at them from the darkness, entering the tenth floor, they cleared it room by room, finding nothing of what remained of them men who were supposed to be there, just bloodstains and disarray.
"Call this in, we need backup." The Captain said as he looked back to see the man who held the squads radio was gone. "Shit, it took Vazquez! Watch yourself damnit!" He yelled as they sped through the rest of the floor and up the stairs.
It only got worse the higher they went, bloody hand marks dragged across the floor, pools of blood and what looked like viscera hung from the ceiling. "This ain't right man, somethings in here with us." One of them panicked and ran for the stairs back down as the others yelled for him to stay with them. He made it to the stairwell door before a shadow dropped behind him, "Behind you!"
It was too late, a wet thud rang out as the mans head was cut clean off, and the figure turned to them. "LIGHT IT UP!" Flashes lit up the room as they opened fire with assault rifles. The figure ran a few feet them burst into the ceiling as they emptied their magazines trying to land a hit.
Leaving their dead friends body, they ran the rest of the way up to the Colonel's office and found what was left of the men who had occupied the building. Dozens of corpses hung around the room, strangled and hung from the ceiling with their own entrails as bloody words scrawled across the walls.
"F-fuck, who the hell did this?!" The Captain felt sick as one of his men threw up, he was fighting back his own vomit as he counted the bodies, still not finding the Colonel. He and his men stared in shock at the mess around them, to busy reading the words on the walls to see the figure stalking towards them.
"What do this say?" One asked as his buddy peered forward to help, only for a new, darker, voice to answer. "I have come for you, and none will leave here alive."
