Chapter 64 - Archangel

Michael's head snapped around at the direction of the voice. He could see that the woman was sitting up and moving towards the edge of the bed behind him. She looked better, a hundred times better than she did before. What he saw now was what she looked like before she was captured, and it was mesmerizing.

Although he was looking at her, her eyes were locked on the boy in the mirror. She knew who he was, she knew him very well, but the question on her mind was why. Why was he here, and how could he be here? She knew very well where she was, this was a pocket space situated in one's soul domain. Seeing how empty it was she realized she was wrong about him, he wasn't some spy sent to obtain information, he really was someone who had just began their journey, and seeing the boy now cemented that fact.

Looking at the young boy, he waved, she returned the favor with a light smile. Michael raised his eyebrow then shot a look towards the mirror.

"You know her?"

"Very well actually."

She was the one to respond to his question. She rose to her feet and began to stretch her body, loosening years worth of aches.

He looked at her, as she made her way to his side, she decided to sit on the otherside of the boy and brushed his hair lightly.

"Can he not speak?"

"He can but the way you are now, that would be very dangerous for both you and me."

She responded, smiling at the boy. He nodded gleefully as he rested his head on her.

"And who are you exactly, and how do you know that?"

She paused for a moment, then turned to look him in the eyes.

"Well it would seem that I am one of your ancestors probably a grandmother or great aunt of some sort. But somewhere down the line you and I are related by blood."

He looked at her with wide eyes, he could hardly believe what he was hearing, there were so many questions. One such being why only now was he able to be here and why he had gained an ability.?.

"And this one here is my nephew."

After saying that, the boy quickly turned his head and dissappeared, he reappeared infront of the dresser, he grabbed something off of it and returned, standing behind him. He seemed to be in a rush, his actions were frantic, he tugged on Michael's shoulder ushering him to stand. After he did, he handed him two items, the black knife from Scarlett and another object that he recognized.

"Seems we're out of time, we'll have to continue this later."

"What? Why?"

She stood up and walked beside them.

Your bodies' in danger, that's why he's acting this way, you'd be wise to listen and remember this.

In his other hand he held the amulet from the chapel, as he looked at it he acted on instinct, crushing it in his hand. A deep red mist emerged from between his fingers and entered his mouth and eyes. He closed his eyes and breathed it in, a sudden burst of energy rushed through him, then when he opened his eyes once more he had returned to the chapel but the area was different from before. The benches were broken and the alter had been shattered, the ground was littered with dead angels and two men stood with their backs turned infront of him.

"What... the hell is going on.?.?"

"Ah, look who finally woke up."

The older man turned his head slightly to look at him. The younger man moved swiftly to stop another incoming attack, he swiftly moved his hand finishing them off in one strike.

"Jeez kid, kill anymore and you just might breakthrough before you leave."

'Breakthrough? Wait does that mean he's like me, is this his first time as well?'

"If you think so, then I might as well finish the rest on my own."

"Haha, I wish but we need to leave. The kid's awake so he can take care of the rest on his own, there's not much time before the archangel arrives, and I'm not recovered enough to deal with that right now."

Michael fought off a few angels as he listened to the two, he wasn't sure why they were here but he knew they protected him for whatever reason and for the he was grateful, but they were right, it was indeed time to leave.

"Hey kid!"

The older man turned back towards him, he tossed something in the air before turning back and following the younger man.

"You owe me a new artifact, so don't go dying on me. When you're ready seek me out. That will show you the way."

Michael caught the item without breaking his gaze. He opened his hand to find a coin inside it, upon closer inspection he could see that the mans aura had been infused into it, making it something akin to a homing beacon. He clenched his hand around it then place it into his pocket. He closed his eyes as he sighed to himself, the white glow emerged as he opened them once more, and a wide grin covered his face.

'Time for a little fun.'

He stomped his foot on the ground sending out a shockwave of aura, it traveled throughout the building hitting all of the angels in the surrounding area, throwing them off their feet. The wave continued outward until it reached the front gate outside. As it reached the gate the shockwave reversed and rushed back towards him, as it hit everyone they were sent flying towards him.

On the outside the older man turned and smile towards the cathedral.

"Not bad kid."

He was surprised by his strength, it gave him chills of excitement, he was more eager than ever to meet him again in the future.

"Don't worry you've got a little bit of time left, I won't let you fall too far behind."

The younger man nodded, then they dissappeared into the forest.

As the world seemed to slow down around him, he extended his hand, dark smoke surrounded it, pulling his hand back, the black knife was in his grasp. His eyes glowed brightly as he scanned the room, planning his moves. Then he burst through the air, creating a shockwave behind him, he cut down three angels in one swift movement. Digging his feet into the ground he quickly changed directions and dashed forward cutting through four more.

He came to an abrupt stop infront of another angel and grabbed him by the throat, he effortlessly lifted the man into the air and prepared his knife for another swift strike but before doing so he spoke.

"[Tell me, where is your leader.]"

The command vibrated throughout the angel, he could feel himself losing control of himself and the temptation to answer fill his entire being. He opened his mouth to speak but before he could, the air around them became terribly cold, then it became heavy. The angel struggled to breathe but not from his grip, no, it was from the fear he felt and the wraith he knew would soon befall them. The fear he felt effortlessly overcame the simple command given to him, he grasped the wrist of the man before him and faught to free himself.

As the air continued to change around the two, Michael could feel a large presence appear in front of where the alter was, he squeezed his hand tightly, breaking the neck of the angel. Dropping the body, he turned around to see a large man standing behind him. He had beautiful white wings on his back that matched his white clothes. His hair was long enough to reach his lower back, and resting on top of it was a golden crown that seemed to radiate a sense of power of its own. Looking at the man he could tell that he was around the same height as the two women he'd met in the cave.

The man seemed indifferent as he looked around at the havoc caused inside of the chapel, instead he seemed to be searching for something, or maybe someone. Michael watched as the angels eyes lingered a little in the direction the two men from before an exited to.

"So, he left you behind. And the amulet doesn't seem to be in his possession, nor the young daemons'. Neither is it in yours, and yet its power radiates off of you. Why is that?"

"You must be the archangel then. Which did you really come for, the amulet or the man it belongs to?"

He looked towards Michael, he scanned him. He was looking for something, a sign of significance from the man before him but to him there was none. He was weak, barely breaking through the first few stages of his awakening.

"The artifact is of no consequence to me, I simply came here to cleanse the world of the existence of its owner, but seeing as it is now in your possession of sorts, you will have to do."

"Now that doesn't seem fair, does it.?. I'm simply a bystander in this, why must I pay for his crimes?"

"The bodies around are more than enough to convict you."

Michael smiled, his eyes changed as he prepared himself, he knew the fight would be hard, but this was what he wanted. He wanted to know the strength of an archangel, the potential strength he himself should be able to obtain.

Looking at the angel something different happened, he felt a rush of information enter his mind, and it told him just how strong the person infront of him really was, but he wasn't sure what to make of it.
