Chapter 167 - Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 163

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

August 14, 2xxx - Izumi Pov.

"Die, Demon!!" I yelled as I jumped up and sat down abruptly. I could hear several surprised squeals, as if they had just woken up.

"Izumi!" the girls exclaimed at the same time as they approached.

"Are you okay?" Taylor asked immediately as she approached the... hospital bed where I was lying? She pressed a button next to the bed, and I blinked several times before looking around and seeing a hospital room - no, it was one of the UA nurses' wards as indicated by the small signs I could see.

It was quite a large nursing room, as the girls had been lying down in several seats around my stretcher, and there was still room for more people.

I looked at the girls; they all seemed slightly half asleep, and I just sighed in relief.

"Okay, okay, I had a weird dream." I said while massaging my eyes.

"Did it have anything to do with last night's villain?" Azula asked, raising an eyebrow. I snorted.

"Of course not," I said immediately. "We were in a chocolate kingdom—"

"Oh no, not another one of your weird dreams." Taylor moaned, Ruby looking excited as her eyes woke up more than before.

"Well, I was the Chocolate Prince, and there you were, and we were at war with the Candy Kingdom-"

"Did the Candy Kingdom return? Was Princess Bubblegum there too?" Azula asked dryly.

"Not really, it was a male version called Prince Gumball," I said immediately. The girls groaned for some reason. "It turns out the war was caused by a villain called the Earl of Lemongrab."

"Let me guess, he wanted the kingdoms of candy and chocolate all to himself," Taylor said, massaging his temple. I snapped my fingers.

"Exactly! But the plot twist is that Prince Gumball was actually his father, and the Earl wanted to steal the crown! The thing is, he manages to kill Prince Gumball, and then his boyfriend, Marshall Lee Abadeer, the Vampire King, comes along," I said quickly.

"Wasn't it Marceline?" Darkness asked, confused, as she tried to follow the story.

"Darkness keeps playing. They changed genres. Then Marshall blames us and, in a fit of rage, opens a portal to the Nightosphere to summon his mother, a powerful and immortal demon full of evil named Hana Abadeer." I kept remembering the dream.

"Are you sure it's not about last night's villain?" Ruby asked timidly.

"No, no, no. I mean, they didn't look alike at all, did they? I think. Hana was a demon with a giant green head that looked like a butt with lots of tentacles and horns." I said absentmindedly. The girls gave me very unimpressed looks.

"Is this story going anywhere?" Taylor asked tersely. I opened my mouth before closing it.

"You know, I don't remember the ending. I only remember how to open the portal to the Nightosphere. First step, draw Phil's happy face, second, spray the face with bug milk, and finally, chant, 'Maloso vobiscum et cum spiritum!'" I said grandiloquently, and the girls looked at me like I was crazy.

"Who the hell is Phil?" Azula asked, genuinely confused.

"Is there bug milk?" Ruby asked, looking at Taylor. Taylor hummed softly.

"There's a type of cockroach that makes something similar to milk," Taylor said, pointing at it. We all shuddered.

"Ew, ew, ew, I didn't want to know that!" Ruby squealed as she shuddered. Taylor snorted.

"You asked," Taylor said dryly.

"A yes or no answer was enough! Now I'll only think about cockroach milk when I eat my cookies! " Ruby complained.

"Well, if thinking about cockroach milk makes you eat fewer cookies, that's a win." Taylor shrugged.

"Can you stop saying Cockroach Milk!?" exclaimed Darkness, slightly green.

"Fewer cookies?! How dare you! I thought you were my sister! " Ruby said as if they had committed high treason.

"Like your sister, I don't want you to die of diabetes at 50." Taylor huffed. Ruby complained.

"The only one who's going to die of diabetes is Izumi and all his chocolate!" Ruby pointed at me.

"I'll let them know that I need all that blood sugar; it's vital for my functioning. I'll die if I don't eat at least 500g of chocolate daily," I said seriously.

"Keep dreaming, Izumi. Literally, in your chocolate kingdom, you can eat all the chocolate you want," Azula said dryly.

"Wait, wasn't Princess Bubblegum made of bubblegum? Does that mean you were made of chocolate? Were we made of chocolate? " Darkness asked, confused. I blushed slightly and looked away.

"Oh goddess, I know that look! You devoured us in your dreams! How dare you?!" Ruby said in horror as she pointed her finger at me.

"Of course not!" I immediately defended myself. "I just... licked you a lot during my reign." I muttered, embarrassed. The four girls snorted mockingly. "I'll have yoy know you were all delicious!" I said without a hint of shame.

"I'd really like to know how you manage to dream up one weirder dream after the next," Azula said dryly. I shrugged.

"I have a very active mind while I sleep," I said simply. "Although... can you get some of that milk? I really want to test if that portal to the Nightosphere works." I said, looking at Taylor; she looked at me with so little emotion.

"First, there's no such thing as the Nightosphere, and second, it's not really 'milk,' it's something very similar, it's a kind of crystal, although... Actually, it's better than cow's milk, calories and all." Taylor pointed out, humming, and I pouted.

"I really wanted to go to the Nightosphere; it looked fun." I complained.

"Nobody's going to tell me who Phil is? Okay, never mind." Azula pointed with a sly smile.

"I mean, was that chant even words?" Darkness asked, confused.

"First, it doesn't matter who Phil is, only his face. And second, Maloso vobiscum et cum spiritum, is Latin, it means-"

"Evil be with you and with your spirit." Nezu interrupted as he opened the door. Behind him were Recovery Girl and, to my surprise, All Might, Grandpa, and Aizawa.

"Director!" the girls said immediately.

"Director! I see you know Latin." I said, surprised. Nezu chuckled slightly.

"It wasn't difficult to learn a dead language; it's quite interesting." Nezu laughed as he entered the room. "The surprising thing is that you dreamed about those words. Do you also know Latin?" Nezu asked curiously. I shrugged.

"Not really, I heard that phrase somewhere else." I said honestly, I couldn't really tell them about Adventure Time, but it was bizarre that I had dreamed about its characters.

"Very well, even so, I must ask you not to attempt this 'Ritual' to enter that 'Nightosphere,'" said Nezu, almost as an order.

"Were you listening?" Taylor asked, almost horrified, while blushing with embarrassment. I think she was mostly annoyed that she hadn't heard them. She must be too tired if she's not paying attention to her insects.

"Do you believe in it?" Aizawa asked dryly. Nezu shrugged.

"Not really, but young Miyamura's... visions have so far turned out to be true. I don't want to risk his dreams also turning out the same way and us ending up summoning a demon." Nezu said so easily that it seemed like he was talking about the weather. Everyone froze in place and stared at me.

"Don't you dare open that portal." Taylor growled as she placed a hand on my shoulder and squeezed tightly. Everyone else glared at me, too.

"Hey, hey, hey. I don't even know where to find insect milk." I complained, and Taylor squeezed my shoulder harder. "Fine! Fine! I'm not going to the Nightosphere or opening any portals." I pouted. The girls snorted.

"If you're finished, I have to check on my patient. Unfortunately, there's no cure for idiocy," Recovery said curtly. The girls froze once more and stared at me, sitting on my examination table. At the same time, they slapped their faces with the palms of their hands.

"We got carried away. I hate you, Izumi." Taylor growled dryly.

"It was so... routine that it was almost normal," Azula said with a sigh. Darkness and Ruby nodded.

"Does Miyamura have such... strange dreams very often?" Aizawa asked while looking at me, almost judging me.

""""Yes!"""" the four of them said dryly. I pouted.

"It's not my fault, it's not something I can control!" I complained to them.

"My favorite is Weirdmageddon!" Ruby said excitedly. All the adults looked at her, confused, and Taylor facepalmed.

"Just ignore her, it's... I don't even want to explain what Weirdmageddon is." Taylor sighed wearily.

"I liked the one about magical girls," Darkness said shyly. The three girls huffed while I smiled broadly.

"That seems pretty normal, aside from the fact that I only know the 'Magical Boy' series," Aizawa remarked, eyeing me cautiously.

"Exactly! We were the 'magical girls,' he was the villain, and every time we lost, he punished us sexually in different ways! " Darkness said with a gleeful moan. I smiled foolishly.

"It was a good dream," I said, my eyes sparkling. "Should we buy some magical girl costumes?" I asked, gesturing toward Darkness.

"Yes!" Darkness said immediately, her face intense as she blushed deeply.

"Forget it, I don't know why I even asked." Aizawa groaned, his hand on his face as he moaned in pain.

"Let's leave that aside," Taylor said quickly.

" Aw, why? You liked the one with the chimera ants." Ruby pointed it out immediately, and Taylor blushed.

"Why, unfortunately, we have more important things to discuss." Nezu interrupted immediately. "First, Recovery Girl?" Nezu looked at Recovery Girl, and she simply nodded.

"Miyamura is in perfect condition. His quirk healed his body completely, just as we already confirmed with All Might and Ryuma. His aura... on the other hand," Recovery Girl said with a grimace. I blinked and looked in her direction. I frowned as I raised my hand.

"I... can't feel my aura." I said, frowning; I could hear several gasps.

"And you won't for a few more hours," Recovery Girl said immediately. "From what I understand, you pushed your aura into All For One, and she was pushing her aura into you. You're both completely incompatible."

"You used your aura for... whatever you did with AFO, while she was simply trying to harm you from within. Your wounds were healed, and there is nothing permanent in your aura, but at this moment, it is slowly recovering."

"Once everything has finished filtering out and healing properly, there shouldn't be any problems." Recovery Girl said, staring at me intently. I sighed in relief.

"Okay, okay, according to my body it's like... 5 in the morning, right? " I asked while looking up at the ceiling.

"According to your body?" Recovery Girl asked, raising an eyebrow.

"My body has a strange affinity with the sun. It's absolutely useless, but I can tell the sun's position accurately enough to tell the time. Useful, but not in the way you'd expect." I said dryly. Recovery Girl snorted, but nodded.

"It's 5:07 in the morning, you've actually been unconscious for a few hours, which is incredible given the fatigue and stress your body was under," Recovery Girl said. I grimaced.

"Well, I'd been awake for two whole days by that point," I said dryly. Recovery Girl stopped.

"2 days?" She asked, confused. I sighed.

"The villains attacked at night after a day of training at the camp, and they freed me almost instantly. I'm an idiot, but not so much of an idiot as to fall asleep in the lair of a villain capable of stealing quirks with a touch." I said dryly.

"Good thought, Miyamura, but that means you fought AFO already tired," Aizawa said, and to my surprise, he sounded tired. I shrugged.

"No rest for the good guys," I said, as if it were obvious. I could see All Might and Nezu smiling broadly, and Grandpa snorted amusedly. I glanced at the girls, who looked worried, and rolled my eyes.

"I'm fine, I feel good, really." I reassured the girls. "Now, how long will I have to wait to use my aura again?" I asked curiously, looking at Recovery Girl, who frowned.

"I said your aura would return, not that you could use it. Stay out of trouble for at least a week. No training, no aggressive use of your aura or your quirks, nothing. Total rest for you," Recovery Girl said firmly. I pouted, but nodded.

"Well, even so, it was worth it to beat the crap out of All For One." I said while puffing out my chest.

"You sound quite proud... my son." I froze when I heard my mother's voice enter the room. I smiled brightly before my smile froze; my mother's icy gaze made me pale considerably.

"Mom!" I tried to say cheerfully with a shaky smile. Mom just glared at me as she started walking toward me. Each footstep echoed against the floor, and I began to tremble slightly.

Mom stopped in front of me, looking me up and down intently. Then she glanced at everyone else in the room: my fiancées, the teachers, and even Nezu, Recovery Girl, All Might, and Ryuma. As if she had used Haki herself, they all took a step back.

…oh no.

Swallow audibly.

"Are you okay?" Mom said, looking at me once more. I could almost see her eyes softening slightly before her gaze turned cold again; I shuddered slightly.

"Yes, I'm completely healthy! A couple of minor issues and a bit of Aura poisoning that should clear up in a few days. In the meantime, I won't be able to use Aura, but otherwise, I'm perfectly fine." I said quickly.

Mom just looked at Recovery Girl, who only snorted but nodded in confirmation. Mom just nodded and looked at me once more.

"I see... I'm glad you're alright, Izumi," Mom said. I could hear her voice soften, and I sighed with relief, especially when she gently placed her hand on my cheek. I sighed with pleasure and smiled slightly before freezing when I felt her grip my ear tightly. I paled considerably.

"M-Mom, p-please, c-calm down, I'm a wounded man! You can't- ouch! Oh! Oh!! Mother!! Not my ear! My piercings!" I screamed in pain as Mom started pulling on my ear. Not just a little tug, she started pulling like she wanted to rip it off.

She turned around and started dragging me with her.

"Mom! My ear! You're going to rip my ear off!!" I screamed in pain as Mom yanked me from the bed with a thud. I started crawling, trying to quickly follow my mother and her iron grip on my ear.

"You're an idiot, Izumi," Mom said dryly, making me shudder.

"Now, Mom, this isn't entirely my fault, I-"

"'Please, I would never be kidnapped, I'm that strong,' weren't those your exact words for the past few years?" Mom asked dryly as I blushed.

"I didn't think a villain as powerful as All Might would kidnap me!" I defended myself, embarrassed. Because yes, I had said those exact words to Mom. Mom gave my ear one last hard tug, and I couldn't help but let out a scream before she released me.

"It's not as good an excuse as you think." Mom mocked me. I grimaced. I knelt in seiza in front of my mother.

"I'm sorry." I finally said, and Mom almost growled.

"You're grounded," Mom finally said. I looked at her in surprise.

"What?! Grounded?" I asked incredulously. She raised an eyebrow in my direction.

"No chocolate, two weeks." Mom said her sentence, making me stagger slightly backward.

"No! I can't live without chocolate! " I exclaimed incredulously. Mom crossed her arms. "Oh come on!" I complained.

"Grounded," Mom repeated. I huffed and crossed my arms. Then I groaned and tried to stand up.

"I'm a grown man, I don't have to accept this kind of-"

"Close your mouth and stay kneeling." My mouth snapped shut with an audible sound, my body lowered once more as I returned to my previous seiza position, and I lowered my gaze.

"Yes, Mom, sorry, Mom." I said immediately while trembling with fear. I tried, but Mom is scarier than AFO. Mom let out a long sigh.

"Despite my instincts, I completely agree with your career choice as a Hero and Hunter, and I know it's not a completely safe profession, but I trusted you, not to be powerful enough, but to be mature enough to understand what you were getting into," Mom said coldly.

I shuddered and kept my gaze on my lap.

"I-"

"No, I didn't give you permission to speak." my mother said. I closed my mouth tightly once more. "You let yourself be kidnapped by villains, all of whom escaped. Once the raid began, you didn't run away; you decided to fight, not only against the strongest villain in the area, a villain who stood up to All Might and Ryuma."

"Otherwise, she was a villain you couldn't face, and you made the stupid decision to divide your power and fight on different battlefronts. You had stupid ideas, you angered the villain to get her attention, you mutilated yourself to defeat that villain, and even though you defeated her, you came out injured."

"You're intelligent, Izumi. I raised you, I educated you, I know exactly what you're capable of. So tell me, how the hell did you become so stupid overnight?" Mom asked coldly. I shuddered slightly and lowered my gaze.

"I had to help," I said without hesitation. Mom sighed wearily.

"And I suppose you were the only one capable of doing it, weren't you? " Mom said sarcastically. I breathed shakily and looked her straight in the eyes.

"I don't know," I told her honestly. "It's possible that All Might and Grandpa could have defeated her. It's possible that the other heroes could have helped and defeated her. It's possible that hundreds of things happened that ended in the villain's defeat. I'm not THAT arrogant to think that she was defeated solely because of me."

"But I was there. I was able to help. I had the strength to help. Even if I was hurt, I wouldn't change anything that happened, anything about my actions. I did what I had to do to help. And I would do it thousands of times, even if I were to get hurt every time."

"It's what I chose to be. What I want to be. I'm sorry for worrying you, Mom. I'll try to do better, but I can't promise anything. I'll do everything I can to help, even if it means getting hurt. But... I promise you I'll always come back... even if I have to crawl." I told my mother with utter honesty and all the determination I could muster. My voice didn't even tremble.

Mom looked directly at me before blinking rapidly and biting her lip.

"You're an idiot," Mom murmured shakily. I smiled weakly at her.

"I'm your idiot," I said, trembling. Mom finally broke down and threw herself at me. She hugged me tightly.

"I'm so glad you're safe, my little boy," Mom said through tears, her arms clinging tightly to me. I didn't even try to stop the tears from falling from my eyes.

"I'm okay, Mom." I said through tears as I comforted her. It was good to be home.
