Gladion stared straight at the approaching Pokémon wave. In the spear formation, he and his Pokémon took the tip, the most dangerous spot. They'd draw the tide's full attention, clearing the path for the rest.
And as the tip of the spear, it was his role to strike the Pokemon wave hard enough to pierce through.
Gladion ordered, "Everyone release every battle pokemon that you have at hand."
As the wave crashed closer Roars, screeches, and thuds shook the ground. As Gladion along with everyone else released their team in flashes of light.
Guy flexed all four arms. Nyx appeared next on top of the Tropius. Hydros cannons were primed as if he was ready to shoot the Pokemon with hydropumps already.
Lee, his Annihilape cracked his ghostly knuckles. Mystique coiled gracefully as she too was on Tropius back. Zeus his Electivire grinned at the approaching Pokemon wave where he could shock others to his hearts content. Tengen, Gladion's Scizor snapped his claws as he flew side by side the massive Tropius.
These were the ten Pokemon that he had with him along with Ultron that had gone to run and errand for Gladion and Collosus who was still in his Pokeball.
None looked scared at the approaching Pokemon wave. They eyed the wave like a game.
Guy voice boomed, [This is the PASSION OF YOUTH! Let's see who knocks out more Pokemon. The one with the least knock outs would have to do hundred extra push ups for every day.]
The others groaned at that except Lee who looked excited to knock out more Pokemon than anyone else.
Guy seeing the others groan added with a smile,[Don't worry my youthful comrades. Whoever loses, I will be doing the extra training with them. Let's show everyone the power of youth! YOOOSHH!]
Nyx yawned. [Jeez, he is as energetic as always. Does he even know that we might all die today? Worse, we all die and he lives. I wonder what would his passion of youth be like them.]
Gladion glared at her and said, "No negative comments today, Nyx. And don't you dare lower the morale of others or I will have Guy spank you in the name of your butt training."
Nyx looked in horror at Gladion and then at the four muscular arms and big hands filled with calluses of Guy. [You would not dare master?!]
Gladion gave her a look that said 'Try me'.
Nyx grumbled and nodded as she immediately shut her mouth, not willing to test how much pain her butts could handle.
The others in the team though were as excited as ever.
Hydros grinned. [I wonder would my Water be able to quench the flames of a legendary bird?]
Lee growled, his eyes were wild. [Hahaha. I'LL KILL EVERYONE!]
Mystique flipped her tail. [Ugh, blood ruins my scales. Can we do this cleanly? Beauty first!]
Zeus crackled. He would finally be able to zap the other Pokemon to his hearts content and then rub it in Arsenal's face who was not participating in this battle.
[Zap zap! It's BBQ time!]
Tengen clicked his claws saying nothing
Elder Green munched a leaf. [I just want to sleep.]
Gladion shook his head, smiling.
Ultron teleported back with a hum right next to the the Tropius, 'I have delivered your message sir. She said that she would think about it. I am also ready for the battle, sir'
Finally, Gladion released Collosus. The alpha Tyranitar erupted with a earth-shaking roar. He charged ahead, ground quaking under his massive steps and weight. He was going to be the formation's true head.
They charged.
Frontline soldiers saw the reinforcements, new troops led by a top Gym Leader. Relief washed over them. They'd held the tide, but casualties mounted.
If the Tyranitars or Dragonite, that made Mt.Silver their home descended. It would have been total annhilation. And if Moltres descended, even the tide would burn.
Ground soldiers saluted as the spear passed. Respect for those risking all to climb and stop the tide at it's source.
The wave hit close. Gladion saw the front: smaller, weaker Pokémon in huge numbers. Rattata swarms. Oddish hopping. Beedrill buzzing clouds. Raticate gnashing. Ekans slithering. Sandshrew burrowing. Parasect shuffling. Thousands. Endless.
Gladion closed his eyes. Pain stabbed his heart. Even after years in this world, ordering kills hurt. But cruelty ruled in this world. Strong survived. He had to do what he must.
His face hardened. "Collosus, Hyper Beam. Full power."
Collosus nodded. Mouth glowed. Energy built in his mouth. He charged.
Seconds later, when Collosus gave Gladion the look that said he was ready.
Gladion waited and when the timing was perfect, he said, "Fire!"
A massive beam shot from Collosus's mouth. A beam of pure destruction. It hit the wave's center.
First Pokémon, Rattata, Beedrill—turned to ash instantly. The beam carved forward, vaporizing hundreds. Oddish, Ekans, Parasect were gone. Dust and smoke rose.The beam kept going, slicing a straight path.
And it finally hit a Steelix.
BOOOOM
Explosion rocked the slope. Metal shards flew.
When it faded, silence.
A kilometer-long scar cut the mountain. Straight line from base upward. Ground glassed from heat. Ash piles where Pokémon stood. Crater at where the Steelix was. There was no grass, no rocks, just a clear road up.
The tide stopped. Soldiers stared. Pokémon froze. Jaws dropped.
Gladion's voice cut sharp: "Charge!"
Shock broke. Soldiers roared, Pokémon surged. They poured into the path, racing up the mountain.
Everyone stared in awe at Collosus and then at Gladion, who commanded the walking disaster
