Chapter 161 - The First Light of Eid

Scene 1: The Sweetness of Preparation

The night before Eid was filled with anticipation. In the warm glow of the kitchen, Ayesha and Maryam stood side by side, their hands busy crafting a traditional sweet dish made from dates. The rich aroma of simmering milk and caramelized dates filled the air, wrapping the home in a comforting embrace.

Ayesha: "This dish is called 'Sheer Khurma.' It's a special Eid delicacy made with dates, milk, and vermicelli."

Maryam: "It smells heavenly. I've never made anything like this before."

Ayesha: "It's a family tradition. Making it together makes it even more special."

As they stirred the mixture, laughter and stories flowed, weaving memories into the fabric of the night.

Scene 2: The Art of Mehndi

Later that evening, the women gathered in the living room, cones of henna in hand. They adorned each other's hands with intricate designs, the cool paste leaving behind patterns that symbolized joy and celebration.

Maryam: "These designs are so detailed. It's like wearing art on your skin."

Ayesha: "Mehndi is an essential part of our Eid preparations. It brings good luck and happiness."

The room buzzed with excitement as they admired each other's handiwork, the scent of henna mingling with the lingering aroma of sweet dishes.

Scene 3: The Mystery Gift

Before retiring for the night, Maryam decided to examine the gift Ayesha had given her earlier. Inside the package, she found a beautiful dress, a matching scarf, and a small box containing glass bangles.

Maryam: "Ayesha, these bangles are stunning, but they're quite large. How do I wear them?"

Ayesha: "They're meant to be worn on your wrists. Let me show you."

Ayesha gently guided Maryam's hands, sliding the bangles over her wrists.

Ayesha: "There you go. They complete your Eid outfit perfectly."

Maryam: "Thank you, Ayesha. This means so much to me."

The two women shared a warm embrace, their bond strengthened by shared traditions and newfound friendship.

Scene 4: The Morning of Eid

As the first light of dawn broke through the curtains, Ayesha was already in the kitchen, adding the final touches to the breakfast spread. The table was adorned with parathas, omelets, chicken curry, and the sweet dish they had prepared the night before.

Ayesha's husband, dressed in his finest attire, entered the room, ready to head to the mosque for Eid prayers.

Ayesha's Husband: "I'm off to the mosque. Eid Mubarak to you all."

Ayesha: "Eid Mubarak. We'll have breakfast ready when you return."

As he left, the household buzzed with activity. Maryam, now dressed in her new outfit, admired herself in the mirror, the bangles clinking softly as she moved.

Scene 5: The Celebration Begins

Upon his return from the mosque, Ayesha's husband greeted everyone with a hearty "Eid Mubarak!" The family gathered around the table, sharing food, laughter, and stories.

Ayesha's Husband: "This breakfast is delicious. The sheer khurma is exceptional."

Maryam: "Ayesha taught me how to make it. I'm glad you like it."

The room was filled with joy, the air thick with the aroma of spices and the sound of clinking bangles. It was a celebration of faith, friendship, and the simple pleasures of life.
