Evan looked at Tanner and told directly:
"I offer such services."
"You can customize the energy blocks you need based on your Pokémon's attributes."
"And they're absolutely top-notch."
"If you're interested, you can visit me at the address on the business card to find out more."
Evan pointed to the business card in his hand.
Hearing this, Tanner's eyes suddenly lit up. However, he still had some doubts. Could Evan really customize top-notch energy cubes?
Noticing his gaze, Evan shrugged.
"If you don't believe it, you can come and see for yourself. My contact information is on the card. Just visit my breeding house when the time comes.
"I can't run away."
"Besides, it won't take much of your time to check it out."
After hearing this, Tanner thought for a moment and agreed.
"Okay, then I'll go and take a look."
"Brother Evan, if you can really customize top-notch energy cubes, I'll order my future ones from you.
"By the way, here's my business card."
As he remembered something, he took out a business card and handed it to Evan. Evan accepted it.
As Evan and Tanner chatted, the crowd gradually dispersed. After figuring out the situation and realizing there was no more fighting, the remaining onlookers returned to their own activities.
Not long after, the security team arrived at the scene. Surveying the situation, the team members appeared shocked.
They dismounted their Pokémon and quickly checked on the three injured individuals to confirm if they were alive.
After thorough inspections, they confirmed the men weren't dead, and the security team collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
The middle-aged officer leading the team approached Evan and Tanner.
"Hello," he greeted. "Who called the authorities?"
There were only two people left at the scene, as everyone else had already left. Evan raised his hand.
"That would be me."
The officer nodded.
"Could you please tell us what happened? Don't worry, this is just a formality.
"These three individuals are indeed poachers.
"We issued a wanted order for them last month but hadn't caught them yet.
"Now that you've helped capture them, there may be a reward."
Hearing this, Evan's eyes lit up.
"Got it! That's great!"
"Here's the thing…"
Evan quickly explained what had happened.
After listening to Evan's account, the police officer nodded, though he looked somewhat speechless.
"Greedy people never end well," he muttered. "How silly—there are still people out there trying to snatch someone else's Pokémon?"
"Have they not read the rulebook?"
He shook his head in disbelief. Attempting to capture a tamed Pokémon while the owner was absent? Did they not realize that unless the original Poké Ball is destroyed, another Poké Ball can't override it?
"How stupid," the officer thought. He genuinely didn't know what else to say.
After clarifying the situation, the officer exchanged details with Evan and told him he could leave. There was nothing more for him to do here.
Evan, seeing no reason to linger, turned to Tanner.
"I'm heading out now. If you have time, feel free to visit my breeding house," Evan said. "I'll be back tomorrow, and if nothing unusual comes up, I'll be there most of the time."
Hearing this, Tanner nodded.
"Alright, Brother Evan," he replied. "I'll stop by soon. I happen to be passing through on my way to challenge the Water Gym."
Since Evan had already extended the invitation, Tanner decided it would be worth checking out.
After saying goodbye, Evan called upon his Dragonite to take him back to the lake. His Pokémon were already waiting for him there.
Evan didn't resume their training but instead allowed them to rest while he began preparing dinner. Before long, the sun began setting over the horizon.
"I'll spend the night here and head back tomorrow," Evan thought.
It didn't take long before the rich aroma of his cooking spread across the lake.
Marshadow, hiding nearby, watched Evan eagerly. The enticing scent was too much to resist.
"It smells so good," it thought. "I really want to eat it."
Marshadow's admiration for Evan only deepened. "How amazing would it be to travel with this human? There's food, shelter, and a chance to grow stronger."
After watching Evan for a while, Marshadow finally made up its mind. It decided to follow this human from now on. "I'll talk to him after dinner," it resolved.
As Evan continued to cook, Marshadow waited patiently, anticipating the right moment. Soon, dinner was ready.
As they ate, Marshadow suddenly let out a cry.
"Mar~!! I want to follow you!"
The words caught Evan off guard, and his eyes lit up with excitement.
Gardevoir and Gallade, who were by his side, also grew excited.
"Really?" Evan asked, suppressing the thrill bubbling inside him. Despite his excitement, there was a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Marshadow nodded firmly, but it also made sure to outline its conditions.
"But you have to make food for me every day," Marshadow added firmly.
This was the key point. It wanted to eat Evan's cooking daily because it loved the flavor.
Without hesitation, Evan agreed to Marshadow's condition.
"No problem," he said confidently. "I promise you."
"From now on, I'll make meals for you every day—four to six meals if needed! I'll even prepare energy cubes specially tailored to your needs."
Cooking wasn't an issue at all. If good food was all it took to captivate a Mythical Pokémon, Evan thought it was a fantastic deal.
With that thought, he quickly retrieved a Poké Ball.
"Then, would you like to come in?" he asked, holding it out toward Marshadow.
Marshadow, recognizing the Poké Ball, didn't hesitate. It reached out, touched the ball, and was promptly absorbed inside.
The Poké Ball shook a few times before settling with a click. Marshadow had been captured.
Moments later, it emerged from the Poké Ball and glanced at it disdainfully. It clearly didn't like the environment inside.
Still, it had been successfully tamed.
