Chapter 39 - When You Taught Me to Fly

"When You Taught Me to Fly"

True feelings bloom when two hearts align,

It felt like heaven when you taught me to fly.

You painted my skies with colors I'd never known,

Then left me mid-air, weightless and alone.

You told me to cry, to mask truth in lies,

To love you, even if it meant my demise.

I obeyed like a fool, chasing your flame,

Not knowing love would come wrapped in pain.

I gave you my heart when no one else dared,

Held you like treasure, fragile and scared.

Hoped for a return—a whisper, a sign—

But suffering was all that you left behind.

Is that why you stayed? To taste my decay?

To laugh while I bled the light of my day?

Is that what you meant, when you lifted me high?

When you clipped my wings, then called it "fly"?

I guess I'm a glitch in your perfect code,

Just static noise in your overload.

A shadow screaming in a silent plot,

A name you remember… or maybe not.

But answer me this, if your goodbye was real,

Why'd you come back just to make me kneel?

Why haunt the ruins you helped destroy?

Why whisper sweet lies like they still bring joy?

If I was just a dream you wanted to break,

Then why does your voice still make my soul shake?

If it was over, why do you still stare,

Like a ghost who forgot why they're even there?
