Chapter 6 - Even the tiniest thing can bring down the whole world

Oh well, back to the main story. After waking up, I found her holding my hand. When she felt my hand move, she woke up. Seeing her beautiful smile right after waking was the one thing I needed to recover.

Two days later, I was discharged, and I decided to move back to Korea so she wouldn't have to keep traveling in and out of the country just to see me.

Oh! Before I forget, Jiyeon is no longer Park Jiyeon but Han Jiyeon—she got married while I was in my fourth year of medicine.

Where was I? Oh yes, we left for Korea.

I finally arrived in Korea after being away for 11 years. After being gone so long, I was home again. Seeing my dad and brother anxiously waiting for me brought tears to my eyes. After so many years, the saddest face finally became the happiest face. The ocean of tears met the drought season, and even the smallest stars began to shine brighter.

I had never felt that happy before, and I planned to cherish those moments forever.

Days passed since we arrived, and Jiyeon suggested we join cooking classes to improve our skills—but I knew she really meant to improve hers since she wanted to be a better wife for her husband, Han Haejun.

He wasn't from a rich family, but since he worked for her big brother, her family accepted him because they could control him. He also knew how to talk Jiyeon into agreeing to things she wouldn't usually agree to.

We attended the cooking classes recommended by Jun oppa, and guess what? It was the same class Jiyeon's mother was attending. It felt like she was trying by all means to take control of Jiyeon's life again, but I was never going to let that happen.

We greeted her respectfully and made our way to where we'd be working. At first, she hated the fact that I made Jiyeon independent and didn't even try to hide it.

But that was before she saw the news announcing me as the CEO of YM. Suddenly, her attitude changed. She even invited me for dinner at her house, and of course, Jiyeon made me agree to go.

She forced me to dress well as if I was going to impress my in-laws. During dinner, she made me behave like a cute, innocent saint so she could have a peaceful dinner with everyone she loved—without any fighting.

That was the beginning of my nightmares.

Her grandma fell in love with me and marked me as her only granddaughter-in-law for Park Jungwoo, her big brother.

The Park family has two sons: Park Sungmin, the firstborn, who had only one son, Donghae; and Park Chang-Ho, the youngest, with two children—a boy and a girl.

Both Sungmin and his wife were involved in a car accident when Donghae was five years old. Chang-Ho was then made president of Park Constructions (PC), which made Donghae believe his uncle had killed his parents to get the position.

With that, Donghae swore to make life miserable for Chang-Ho's children.

He made the whole family believe Jungwoo hated him for taking his parents away and poisoned them against Jiyeon's career choices.

To the family, Donghae was a saint—never punished or scolded when wrong because they feared making him feel unwanted.

He wanted to take back everything that belonged to his father, even if it meant hurting his family.

After finishing school, Jungwoo moved to England and started his own business without any family help. He even married Jeong Gyuri, an artist.

One day, he got a call that his grandma had collapsed, so he relocated back to Korea with his wife.

She was good at painting and made a successful career there.

Jungwoo started working at one of his company's branches in Korea, which also helped his wife expand her business.

When he arrived, everyone was shocked to find out he was married—but they were happy he found someone to make him happy.

However, not everyone was happy.

Donghae was furious that Jungwoo was successful and happy while he lived in misery.

That wasn't the only reason. He overheard their grandma saying she wanted Jungwoo to inherit PC—but he couldn't let that happen.

First, Donghae created rumors about Jungwoo's marriage being fake, just so he could inherit the company. Then he cyberbullied his wife and even tried to kill Jungwoo.

Luckily, he was caught—but it cost Jungwoo's unborn child, which led his wife to divorce him.

Ever since then, Jungwoo hasn't smiled or shown any emotions.
