Chapter 22 - Uncle Yum Yum's first day at work.

We arrived at the company. We had just walked in, when everyone started looking at Hoseok and started whispering. "Who is the guy that is walking beside Ms Hana?" One the female employees asked looking at Hoseok while whispering to one of her colleagues. "I think I have seen him before bringing Ha-jun and Ha-eun to visit Ms Hana. I think he might be the son of their caretaker," The colleagues murmured, leaning closer to her. "But Ms Hana doesn't have a caretaker at home because she doesn't like strangers in her house, especially with the twins around," she whispered, leaning closer so they can be the only ones who hears. "Didn't you hear? He is Ms Hana's adopted brother and Ethan's new secretary," replied the female colleague that had just arrived. "Wow! Eleanor wasn't exaggerating when she said we won't be able to focus starting today," she said, her eyes gleamed as though carrying stars within them. "Right? Too bad he has to work under that devil, Ethan. I really feel bad for him," she said, her glowing face replace gloomy expression as she gently shook her head feeling bad for him. I stopped in my tracks and gave them a piercing gaze, dispersing their tiny gossip groups.

"Krrp! Krrp! I let out a dry, rasping throat-clear, making everyone stop in their tracks and turn to look at me. "Gossiping during work hours, company's winter camping trip is cancelled," I said, with a stern look across my face. Knowing how I am, they didn't try to negotiate with me regarding it. They just stood there and swallowed their sorrows to themselves without making any sound. "This is Hoseok, he is my brother and also Ethan's new secretary. Don't treat him special hoping to score some points with me, it won't work but that doesn't mean you could bully him. Not even a single hair less, I will count them when we knock off and if I found one missing, you are dead. Catherine, you will be in charge of showing him ropes. That will be all, dismissed," I said turning around to leave when Ha-jun started crying. He saw Hoseok walking away so he started crying. "HA-JUN! NO!" I shouted, silence spread across the office, everyone turned to look at me. Ha-jun immediately stopped crying and drank his bottle. I hinted Hoseok to go on and pushed the baby stroller to my office.

"Ha-jun, you just had to go on and cry when you saw how pissed off she is. My poor Ha-jun, you really like tasting danger with your tongue," she said with a frown, clearly feeling bad for him as she followed behind us. I pushed the stroller to the play room, I settled them in and gave them some yogurt to eat while watching some cartoons. I then walked to my table and started with the work for the day. Eleanor stood in front of my table, reporting my schedule for the day, her face a little pale. I felt like her reporting pace what somehow slow today so I looked up to look at her. She was pale, her lips dry as if she was dehydrated. I immediately stood up to help her sit down. "Alice! Bring water." I shout out to her assistance. She came into the office rushing with a bottle of mineral water in her hand. I took the water from her and helped Eleanor drink it. After drinking, Alice helped me carry her to the couch. "Get me a cold medicine, something light to eat and warm water." I said as I stood up and rushed to get a spare towel in Ha-eun's bag. Alice came with the warm water in a small bowl, one of the employees carrying a warm bowl of instant porridge.

"Did you also bring the cold medicine?" I said, soaking the face towel into the bowl, then placed it on her forehead to relieve the cold. She reached out to her pocket and gave it to me. I helped Eleanor up to eat before taking the medicine. "Rest up a bit until you feel better. Don't wake up if you are not well, and don't you dare work in secret." I said, helping her lie down then carried the bowl out of the office with Alice and the other employee following behind me. "Spit it out! And you better think twice about lying to me." I said staring at Alice, my gaze steady and serious.
