Reality shattered like glass into a thousand pieces—then reassembled itself anew.
Amadeus opened his eyes.
He was back at the camp.
Again…
His teeth clenched. Fury boiled inside him.
He dropped to his knees and screamed.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!"
The sound tore through the night.
Crown, who had been napping lazily on a rock, woke up.
"Wha—!? What's wrong? Why are you screaming like that?"
Amadeus didn't answer.
He slammed his fist into the ground. Again. And again.
Cracks appeared beneath him as blood dripped from his knuckles.
Xera… Xera… I will kill you.
No matter what it takes.
The Knight Memory calm voice echoed inside his mind.
"Control yourself. Anger will not change anything."
The Noble Memory followed, cold and sharp.
"He's right. If you rush in blinded by rage, you'll accomplish nothing but another death."
Amadeus forced himself up, trembling with rage, ignoring them both. He moved forward.
The Knight pressed again, his tone hard.
"You'll just die again if you refuse to listen."
Amadeus's inner voice darkened.
So what? Then I'll just come back.
Over and over… until I kill him.
Crown floated beside him, uneasy.
"Where are we going?"
Amadeus's eyes narrowed.
"To kill Xera."
Crown.
" And who exactly is this Xera?"
Amadeus's voice was low, venomous.
"A man I have to kill. Even if it means dying a thousand times."
By the time night fell, Amadeus reached the meting place once again
Guards stood in formation—just like before.
Only this time, their presence was meaningless.
Their difficulty no longer even registered to him.
One stepped forward.
"Give me the letter."
Amadeus said nothing.
The guard growled.
"Didn't you hear me, brat—"
Amadeus's sword flashed.
The man's head rolled across the dirt before he could finish.
The other guards froze in horror.
Then an order broke their paralysis.
"What are you waiting for!? Kill him!"
They charged—swords, arrows all at once.
But to Amadeus, they were less than insects.
In one minute, they were all dead.
Crown drifted closer, wide-eyed.
"What the hell happened last night? I only closed my eyes for a few hours"
" And suddenly you're cutting down trained guards like grass!"
Before Amadeus could answer, a clap echoed across the place.
Xera.
He sat casually atop a rock, his smirk illuminated by moonlight.
"Well done. Truly impressive. But…"
He hopped down.
" you're still not on my level."
Amadeus's gaze moved to see Xera Difficulty.
[ Extreme ]
Crown.
"Bad idea. Really bad idea."
" We should run and fight another day."
But Amadeus's blood boiled.
It didn't change. Even after I got stronger, he's still marked as Extreme.
It doesn't matter.
[ Sword Mastery lv 1 ]
"Xera, you're going to die by my blade."
Xera amused, said.
" You know my name? Interesting. But dead men words don't matter."
Xera drew his sword.
The battle began, as They clashed.
[ Signal of the End ]
Amadeus saw his death—his head impaled.
He twisted at the last second, the sword grazing his cheek instead of taking his life.
Again and again the visions came.
Again and again he barely dodged.
But no matter how many times he evaded, his body couldn't keep up.
Cuts opened across his body until he was drenched in blood, panting, barley on his feet.
Xera's eyes gleamed.
"It's like you can see the future. But what good is that, if you're still weak?"
He moved forward.
Amadeus raised his sword, desperate to block—
CRACK.
His blade shattered under the weight of Xera's strike.
Pain tore through him as the slash carved deep into his chest, hurling him across the ground.
Blood pooled. His breath grew shallow.
Xera stood over him, disappointed.
"You were entertaining. But you couldn't last."
Amadeus, gasping, forced words past his lips.
"I'll… see you again."
Xera smirked, lifting his foot.
"Of course you will… little dog."
Xera smashed Amadeus head with his foot.
[ You Failed ]
[ Rewriting Chapter 1 ]
Reality shattered once more. Reassembled.
Amadeus opened his eyes. He was back at the camp. Again.
This time, he didn't scream. He sat cross-legged on the ground, closing his eyes.
Memory Domain
The Memories gathered.
But unlike before, they were silent. Watching. Judging.
Amadeus.
"I know. I made a mistake. I let rage control me."
" If you abandon me now "
" I'll be alone."
For a long moment, silence.
Then one stepped forward.
Slave Memory, his voice trembling with grief, said.
"Lio… he was just a child. That bastard Xera will pay for it."
" But with blind rage. We'll make him pay the right way."
Assassin Memory.
"In my trade, emotions like rage, sadness, and fear are nothing but chains."
" Discard them, or they'll kill you faster than any blade."
The Mage Memory.
" felling responsible for failing to protect someone, Truly hurts "
" but let that pain push you further ".
The Beggar Memory.
" you just met lio, you think his worth you dying a meaningless death ".
" if you want to protect other, first you have to save yourself "
Knight Memory, firm and steady.
" until you're strong enough."
" Otherwise, you'll only waste these second chances."
Noble Memory, sharp as a knife.
"To grow, you must learn from every mistake."
" Each failure is a stepping stone."
" That is how we will win—even against an Extreme enemy."
Amadeus raised his head, determination flickering in his eyes.
The Memories exchanged ideas and they decided on a plan.
There was no way to gain Essence from the guards anymore since there too weak.
Only Arex remained.
Once difficult, killing him again is good way to gain few extra Essence.
Of course its all thanks to the Writer second chance.
Amadeus would repeat the past, but smarter.
Each death, each loop, would be used to grow.
The Knight would drill him, forging his Sword Mastery higher each time.
Xera would not leave him alone forever. When he came again, Amadeus would be ready—piece by piece, death by death, until even an Extreme Difficulty foe would fall.
The Noble Memory's voice closed the dictation.
"Is the plan clear?"
Amadeus nodded, his eyes burning with resolve.
the Noble declared.
"Then, let us begin."
To be Continued.
