On the same day, January 26th, a group of riders were heading east on a mountain road just outside Fushun.
Needless to say, you might have guessed, these few were none other than Huang Donglai, Sun Yixie, Linghu Xiang, Lin Yuancheng, Jiang Muchan, and Qin Feng.
Clearly, the six of them were on their way to join the bustling "Struggle for the Head of Green Forest Dao."
Now, some might wonder… aside from Jiang Muchan, these were all men of the "Jianghu Dao," so why meddle in the affairs of the Green Forest Dao?
The book gives two reasons here.
Firstly, when Jiang Muchan's master was alive, he had a significant connection with Gong Lianjun, and by seniority framework, these two were actually contemporaries within the Dragon Sect; although the former was later expelled from the sect because of a certain incident, he remembered his friendship with Gong Lianjun till his last breath and had entrusted Jiang Muchan, if possible, to repay Gong Lianjun on his behalf.
