Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 RISE OF THE NEW LEADER

Akimitsu's Declaration

Akimitsu stood tall before Kuroba, breathing heavily but eyes burning with resolve.

"I have no family," Akimitsu said firmly. "But Hoshizuro is my family… and my friends."

Kuroba smirked.

"Brave words. But you're no match for me."

Before Kuroba could strike, Zoren dashed forward, lightning erupting around his blade.

"Rai, kimi no tame ni!!"

(Lightning—For Your Sake!)

His lightning-charged strike cut straight through Kuroba.

But Kuroba's form flickered, then shattered like smoke.

The group froze.

"A… clone?" Ryūgi muttered, startled.

Takashi's expression hardened. "If he can create clones… this changes everything."

But with teamwork, strategy, and Akimitsu's awakening power, the heroes overcame the final waves of darkness.

The Devourer was not sealed—it was destroyed, and Hoshizuro was finally safe.

That evening, the people celebrated.

Lanterns glowed across the village, children cheered the heroes' names, and families embraced with relief. The air was warm with joy… and hope.

The Former Leader Speaks

The former leader of Hoshizuro, Sam Ryuzaki, approached Akimitsu near the celebration fire.

"Akimitsu," Sam said proudly. "You're a natural leader. Lead Hoshizuro. Unite us."

Akimitsu immediately shook his head.

"I'm not the one who defeated the Devourer," he said calmly. "Akira did. I only helped."

The group gasped.

"Akira?" Kazumi whispered, stunned.

"The one who wielded Steelstone?" Sam asked, eyes widening.

Akimitsu nodded once.

"Yes. Him."

Everyone exchanged confused, reevaluating glances.

Zoren stepped forward. "Akimitsu… are you sure about this?"

"Yeah." Akimitsu replied firmly.

Sam straightened.

"Very well. If Akira defeated the Devourer… then bring him to me. Hoshizuro needs its true hero."

The group nodded and prepared to set out.

Ryūji Confronts Akimitsu

But before they left, Ryūji pulled Akimitsu aside, eyes narrowing.

"Akimitsu," Ryūji said quietly, "why are you lying?"

Akimitsu froze.

"You defeated the Devourer… didn't you?"

A long moment passed.

Finally, Akimitsu nodded.

"Yes. I did. But Akira helped me."

Ryūji's eyes widened. "Akira…?"

Akimitsu looked down.

"His dream has always been to lead Hoshizuro. I don't want the position… I don't think it suits me. But him? He has vision, strength, and heart. I want his dream to come true."

Ryūji's stern expression softened into a gentle smile.

"Akimitsu… your humility makes you a true hero."

The others gathered, sensing the private moment had ended.

"Akimitsu," Sam said, "explain your reasoning."

Akimitsu stepped forward.

"Akira's vision is unity, protection, prosperity… everything Hoshizuro needs in a leader. I trust him with our future."

Takashi nodded. "If you believe in him, so do we."

Kazumi smiled. "Akira will be proud."

Zoren placed a hand on Akimitsu's shoulder.

"Your selflessness inspires us."

The group made their decision.

It was time to find Akira.

---

Finding the New Leader

Akira walked through Hoshizuro's lively market, smiling at the recovering town.

Suddenly, Zoren and Takashi approached him.

"Akira," Zoren said seriously, "come with us."

"What's going on?" Akira frowned.

"Just follow us," Takashi insisted.

Though confused, Akira trusted them and followed to Sam's residence.

Sam stood at the entrance.

"Akira, please enter."

Inside, Akimitsu, Ryūji, and Kazumi waited silently.

Sam wasted no time.

"Akira," Sam announced, "we've chosen you as Hoshizuro's young leader. You're skilled, widely respected… and the brightest student from Shinowara Academy."

Akira's jaw dropped.

"W–WHAT?! Why me?!"

The room stayed silent.

Akimitsu stepped forward.

"Akira, trust us. You're meant for this."

Zoren nodded.

"You have compassion, wisdom, and strength."

Takashi crossed his arms with a grin.

"Hoshizuro needs someone like you."

Kazumi added softly:

"Your ideals match ours completely."

Ryūji placed a steady hand on Akira's shoulder.

"We all believe in you."

Akira felt his heartbeat pounding.

Lead… Hoshizuro?

Him?

The Announcement

The group brought Akira to the town square.

A massive crowd waited, whispering, wondering.

Sam raised a microphone.

"People of Hoshizuro! Tonight, we declare a new beginning!"

The crowd murmured.

"We have chosen a leader," Sam continued. "One who embodies unity, protection, and prosperity."

Kazumi pointed toward Akira.

"Akira… step forward."

Akira walked forward nervously.

"Akira," Sam declared loudly,

"you are Hoshizuro's new leader!"

The crowd erupted in wild cheers.

"AKIRA! AKIRA! AKIRA!"

Akira froze, overwhelmed.

"What do I even say?" he whispered to Akimitsu.

Akimitsu chuckled softly.

"Speak from your heart."

Akira took a shaking breath.

But before he could speak, the crowd parted.

Two figures rushed forward.

"Akira!" they shouted.

Akira's eyes widened.

"Otōsan… Okaasan?!"

(Father… Mother?!)

His parents—Kaito Hoshinaka and Yumi Hoshinaka—embraced him proudly.

"We're so proud of you, son!" Kaito said, smiling.

"Our Akira… leader of Hoshizuro!" Yumi said tearfully.

Akimitsu stepped forward respectfully.

"Kaito-san, Yumi-san… your son is the leader Hoshizuro chose."

Kaito nodded proudly.

"We always knew he was special."

Yumi beamed.

"Go on, Akira. Speak."

Akira turned to the crowd.

"Hoshizuro…" he said, voice trembling.

"I… promise to protect our home… to unite our people… and guide us into a brighter future."

The crowd roared with approval.

Lanterns rose into the sky.

Hoshizuro had a new leader…

And a new beginning.

End Scene Hook

As the festival continued, Ryūji whispered to Akimitsu:

We need to talk about something .what happened inside the Devourer's fight. How you fought without control and also sam and other leaders would come because you got the Akatsuki it is the legend Zakuro Ryugun's sword and the scarf was from the shinowara academy, Ryuguns wife Zakuro Hakura used to carry it. I will call you when everyone meet and keep them safe.

"Okay".Akimitsu nodded

The celebratory lanterns still glowed in the morning mist as Akimitsu made his way to the former leader's residence. Ryūji's words from the night before echoed in his mind, a quiet undercurrent beneath the town's joyous exhaustion. He adjusted the worn, crimson scarf around his neck—the one Ryūji had mentioned—and felt the comforting, strange weight of the blade at his side, the one he'd taken to calling Akatsuki in his thoughts.

Inside Sam's meeting hall, the atmosphere was solemn. Akira sat at the head of the table, looking newly official but still wide-eyed. Sam stood beside him, along with two senior village generals—a stern woman named General Hina and a veteran with a scar across his jaw, General Bō. Ryūji, Takashi, Zoren, and Kazumi were also present, their celebratory ease replaced by watchful tension.

"Thank you for coming, Akimitsu," Sam began, his eyes immediately drawn to the sword at Akimitsu's hip. "We must discuss the artifacts you now carry. The blade… and the scarf."

General Hina stepped forward, her gaze analytical. "The Akatsuki blade. Last recorded wielded by the legendary guardian, Zakuro Ryūgun. And the scarf… a relic of the Shinowara Academy, once carried by his wife, the strategist Zakuro Hakura. These are not mere trophies. They are foundational relics of our history. How did you come by them?"

Akimitsu recounted the final moments within the Devourer's core—the blinding light, the sense of a guiding presence, the sword materializing in his grasp as his own power awakened, the scarf already wrapped around him as if it had always been there.

"They chose him," Ryūji stated plainly. "During the fight, his power was chaotic, untamed. But when the blade appeared, it was like a key fitting a lock. The energy stabilized."

"A fascinating claim," General Bō rumbled, his voice gravelly. He extended a hand. "May I?"

Akimitsu hesitated, then unbuckled the sheathed sword and offered it hilt-first.

The moment General Bō's fingers closed around the scabbard, his arm stiffened. A visible jolt, like a tiny blue lightning spider, crackled from the hilt to his wrist. He gasped, his eyes widening in pain as his other hand flew to his temple. He dropped the sword back onto the table as if burned, staggering back a step.

"Bō!" Sam exclaimed.

"It… it repelled me," Bō panted, massaging his temple. "A psychic shock. Not malicious, but… definitive. A protection."

General Hina's eyes narrowed. "Ryūgun was a master of spiritual and elemental fusion. He didn't just forge a weapon; he forged a bond. It seems the bond is specific. To you, Akimitsu."

Akira, who had been watching silently, finally spoke. "What does that mean for Hoshizuro?"

"It means," Sam said slowly, "that these relics cannot be stored in a vault or wielded by another. They are tied to Akimitsu, for a purpose we do not yet fully understand. The sword's reaction confirms it. For now, they must remain with him. It is both a privilege and a responsibility."

Ryūji nodded. "And the scarf? It's from the Academy."

"Indeed," Sam said. He produced a sealed envelope from within his robes and placed it on the table beside the Akatsuki blade. "Which is why our second decision concerns Akimitsu's future. You have immense, raw power, but as Ryūji witnessed, it is wild. You lack foundation. Shinowara Academy was founded on the principles Zakuro Hakura helped establish. It is the only place where you can learn to master your abilities, understand the legacy you now carry, and discover why these relics have come to you."

He slid the envelope toward Akimitsu. It bore the wax seal of Hoshizuro, overlapping with the emblem of Shinowara Academy—a stylized blossom and sword. "This is a full-admission ticket. A recommendation from the leadership of Hoshizuro itself. Your friends have already earned their places through merit. This is your path."

Akimitsu stared at the ticket, then at the sword, then at Akira. His friend gave him a firm, encouraging nod.

"My first act as leader," Akira announced, his voice gaining strength, "is to endorse this. Protect the relics, Akimitsu. Grow stronger. Learn. Hoshizuro's safety may one day depend on the secrets you uncover."

General Hina added, "The Academy's headmaster will be informed of the relics' nature. You will be both a student and a guardian. Do not take this lightly."

"I won't," Akimitsu said, his voice low but steady. He picked up the envelope and re-sheathed the Akatsuki, the scarf warm against his skin. The path ahead was clear, yet shrouded in mystery. He was no leader of villages, but he was now the bearer of a legacy. His family—Hoshizuro, his friends—needed him to walk it.

"Then it is settled," Sam said. "You leave with the others at week's end. Until then, prepare. And Akimitsu…"

"Yes?"

"Keep them safe. And let them keep you safe."

As the meeting adjourned, Akimitsu felt the weight of the sword, the softness of the scarf, and the promise of the ticket. His battle had ended one war, but it had opened the door to a much older, deeper story. His training was about to begin.
