Adela sneered and said coldly.
"But now his subjects are disobedient. Isn't it only rightful to teach them a lesson with sticks?"
Hephael swallowed his saliva.
"...What about us? What should we do..."
If he were asked to recruit conscripts from the fields, he wouldn't bat an eye and would certainly sort out those lazy good-for-nothings. But if he were asked to turn his guns on his neighbors, or drive them out of town, he just couldn't bring himself to do it, as they were his kinfolk after all.
