Behind the stone wall of the maze, two preparatory students from the Defense School were leaning back to back, breathing heavily in tension. Their magic power had already been exhausted, and one of their mage robes still had holes corroded by acid.
"We... we're lost, Martin." One of the scrawny apprentices trembled in his voice, "The map is fake, we were deceived by those undead!"
The apprentice referred to as Martin was pale as he gripped his magic wand tightly, the faint glow at its tip flickering like a candle in the wind.
"We were too naive... to believe that Master Merk would kindly prepare a supply point for us!"
"I knew it, that 'official supply point' was never an actual supply point, it was a trap set by Master Merk intentionally!"
The two pitiful kids only uncovered the first layer of deception.
The so-called official supply point was indeed fake, but you can't really blame Master Merk, who meticulously designed the maze, for this jokery.
