The dinner quickly came to an end amidst this little episode. Song Chengguang had initially planned to roll up his sleeves to help with the dishes, but Xu Xiuxiu, aware that he had lost his first tooth today and might be in low spirits, sent him off to do homework with his younger brother and sister while she tidied up the kitchen alone.
