The blue Karmic Fire, devoid of warmth, erupted along the blade of the spear, scorching the paper figure's body and casting strange, twisted shadows upon the walls of the Dark River.

Just as the Karmic Fire was about to burn through the paper, another paper figure dashed through the flames of the exploding talisman arrow, appearing directly behind Li Ang and punching towards the back of his neck.
With no time to dodge or retreat, Li Ang switched to offense, pulling back on the shaft of his Triangular Spear and jabbing its butt end into the paper figure's chest. This, combined with a burst of Karmic Fire, forced it back.

The sound of water erupted again as the first paper figure flickered to Li Ang's left and lunged at him.
