Chapter 144
Tristan
"Tristan, you could still come to my guild."
I keep my eyes on the notes in front of me, even though I've read the same sentence three times and still don't know what it says.
"No, thank you."
Guild Master Elysia doesn't move from where she's standing beside my desk.
She's a lecturer at the academy. Being one of the best healers in the fortress means that unfortunately, she's my lecturer.
I see her twice a week for advanced healing theory, once for practical application, and at least once more for whatever recruitment pitch she's rehearsed this time.
She's really good at her job. I'll give her that. Her lectures are clear, her demonstrations precise, and she has a way of explaining complex mana flows that makes even the most difficult concepts feel achievable.
If only she would stop trying to get me to join Celestial Grace.
