"You don't look like a friend of the world. What are you eating?" Chen Ke looked at the half-eaten white thigh.
"Tell me, stranger, are you from the Savior Sect or the Divine Descent Sect?" Maggots writhed within its body, as its skin exuded a foul-smelling fluid.
"I am not from either." Chen Ke said.
The maggot was silent for a while, then opened the large mouth beneath its face, emitting a long, rumbling noise. Chen Ke didn't know if it was yawning or moaning in pain.
"They sent many to seek answers, but all in vain. Are you one of them?" the maggot asked.
"I am not like you." Chen Ke shook his head. The maggot before him revealed no information, not belonging to any Clan, deity, or mutated creature—perhaps, it was something special.
His left eye blinked red, preparing to see if the maggot was hiding something.
"Ah... that eye... are you...?" The maggot saw Chen Ke's left eye and its tone became somewhat frightened.
