Luna Rosa was in full blown panic mode. What was Rita thinking, how could they host the werewolf meeting?
Luna Tyra had always hosted the meeting, never giving anyone a chance.
The Lunas had learnt to follow her lead. Why would Rita suggest such a thing especially knowing the feud they already had with Luna Tyra.
"What makes you think the Lunas would leave the normal ways of doing things to try your hosting?" Luna Tyra asked.
"and what makes you think the Lunas aren't tired of the old ways of doing things and want to try something new?" Rina fired back.
The Lunas heads moved rapidly between Luna Tyra and Rina. This was the most entertaining thing to happen in a meeting so far.
"Okay, so what do you propose?" Luna Tyra asked.
"a vote, you tell us your plans for the meeting and I will tell you our plans too. The Lunas will vote on what they like best." Rina proposed.
"Okay, I hope after the voting, you will have no more objections." Luna Tyra told her, she was already at her wits end with this girl.
She hadnt seen Rita since the mating ceremony and even on that day she hadn't had a good opinion of her, she had seen her as a floozy who had bewitched alpha Rafaele with her looks.
Who would have known she was outspoken? But she wasn't afraid,there was no way this girl would be able to sway the Luna's, Luna Tyra had ruled supreme over them for years.
"Ok, I will go first, as usual while the alphas are having their meetings, we the linas will be busy in the kitchen preparing the meals with the servants. Afterwards there will be a lecture on how we can be good Luna's and mates to our men, its just like we have done it every year and we all enjoyed it" Luna Tyra said, a smug expression on her face.
When she was done, she looked at Rita to see her expression. To her surprise, Rita wasn't even looking at her or paying attention , rather she was busy whispering to Luna Rosa.
"Is this what you guys really do every year?" She whispered.
"yes, that is what we do" Luna Rosa whispered back.
"and you all agreed?"
"What were we supposed to do?"
"Rita, we are all waiting for your suggestion" Luna Tyra interrupted.
"Rita, It's not too late to turn it down, all the lunas would support her" Luna Rosa whispered.
Rina ignored Luna Rosa and stood up, she knew there was a possibility that they wouldn't accept her suggestion. But, at least she had challenged that proud and pompous Luna Tyra.
"Now who says the werewolf regional meeting is for the men alone, I think there are other things we can do besides just cooking and having a lecture, I am sure we all have experience on being Lunas and mates to our alphas, I doubt we all need further Lectures. Right?"
"Right" the other lunas murmured.
"How about this? we hire a catering crew in addition to the servants who will be in charge of preparing the meals. And while the men are busy with their meetings, we can have our own meetings too where we exchange ideas or how to improve our packs. And we can be having a spa day while doing our meetings. And in the evening, we all go for the party"
The Lunas murmured agreeing sounds, surely there were better activities than cooking and receiving a boring lecture from Luna Tyra.
Luna Tyra's face stiffened in rage. Looking at the luna's face, she could guess what they were thinking.
'How dare they undermine her authority for an immature girl?'
"I think we should take a vote now, if you pick me, just raise up your hands"
"l object" Rina interrupted Luna Tyra.
"What now?" Luna Tyra asked.
"Raising of hands is an outdated form of voting and isn't democratic at all"
"So what do you suggest?"
"balloting, we will all write our preferred candidates and vote" Rina proposed.
"Fine, let's just get this over with" Luna Tyra agreed.
The Lunas quickly wrote their desired candidate on paper and voted.
"Okay, let's calculate. I hope after this, Rita would have no more objections" Luna Tyra shot a glare at her.
"Of course" Rina gave her a sweet smile which only seemed to infuriate Luna Tyra.
One of the lunas was tasked with counting the votes. contrary to Luna Tyra's expectation, every single vote except one, which seemed to be hers.
Luna Tyra looked at Nani in anger, ever her own daughter had voted against her?
Nani looked down, averting her mothers gaze. she had thought she could vote for Rina and the vote of others would cover her, how was she to know that no one else would vote for Luna Tyra.
Luna Tyra looked at Rita, expecting to see a joyful expression on her face. Rather, Rita had a sad expression on her face.
Luna Tyra almost fainted out of anger, she had just won, what did she have to be sad for?
Rina felt sad, she had thought others would vote for Luna Tyra and it would suffice that she had shaken the Luna a little. How was she to know that the Lunas would be convinced by her and vote for her instead.
Hell! by tomorrow she would be out of here and Rita would be back. Rina knew there was no way her sister would be interested in something like this.
But as she looked at the Lunas expectant faces, how could she refuse them. She took a deep breath, she would just have to convince Rita and help out.
She stood up, a bright smile on her face, "I am thankful for the trust in me and i want to assure everyone that the Werewolf regional meeting will be a success"
The Lunas clapped while Luna Tyra looked even more enraged.
"Hmmph I will see how well she will organize it. When she fails, they will all come back begging" She muttered to herself.
