Ma'abu's eyes shrank to pinpoints when he saw the faint flicker of soul flame in Kael's eyes.
How could he not recognize that cursed flame that was able to inflict the worst pain possible while not actually burning the body?
He had seen too many creatures suffer at the hands of those temperamental and sadistic Fire Lions.
The thing was, the stronger an individual was, the more easily they would be able to tolerate pain until it died down on its own.
Some entities were even strong enough to douse the flame with their will alone.
But Ma'abu was currently a weak human.
How could he defend against the soul flame? If he had his powers, he would at least be able to endure the pain while slowing the flow of time around his soul.
"Kael?" Ma'abu staggered, trying to move his body but he couldn't.
He couldn't feel most of his body from his neck downward.
"What?" Kael tilted his head, "Katari had given me some suggestions, but this one seemed to fit perfectly."
