Third POV

SCR ( Student Council Room.)

One day later

"Black or White?"

"Black."

The duo of King and Rook started playing the game of chess, with both playing the pawns at first.

"Why?"

"Do Speak more plainly?" Sona looked at her rook.

"Why was I excluded from going to the church?"

To Uryuu it was something he didn't get, Rias and Sona had went to the church together with some of their peerage members. So why was he excluded?

"Say, if you were playing a group game at national level, would you take in a player who hasn't really played that particular game ever?" Uryuu could see the reason and shook his head.

"That's right you wouldn't. Neither was I willing to possibly put you life at risk by throwing you into such an unpredictable scenario." Sona looked at her rook, critically.

"Now then, it should be me who should be asking the question." Sona said moving her rook. "About you bringing a nun, oblivious or not, to your house."

"I did what I thought was the best."

"Putting your life on the risk for a stranger?"Sona retorted at her Rook.

"Kinda..."Uryuu scratched his cheeks, not knowing what else to say.

"What did I even expect?"

"Don't beat yourself over it, you were better than some I have played against." Sona checkmated Uryuu, as she stored the board and its pieces away. "And be prepared to take the responsibility."

"Responsibility?"

"You did save the nun by going to extremes." Sona said walking to her work desk, as she sat she made sure to have eye contact with her rook. "And now you are going to take her responsibility, think of her as your first contract. Her safety and protection is now your responsibility."

Hikaru nodded as he listened to Sona's words, before pausing as he remembered something. Debating whether to bring it up or not.

"Speak, What's on your mind?"

"Why didn't you try to add her to your peerage?" Silence followed Hikaru's question for a while before his king answered.

"I didn't believe it was appropriate to ask her about it at the time and since you said she would prefer to stay as human, I abandoned the idea." Sona pushed her glasses upward as she spoke.

"And what if I was lying about her choice to remain a human?"

"I am placing my trust on you."Sona said simply placing full trust in her rook.

"Oh, did I forget to mention she will be staying with you from now on." Sona had intentionally left that part out, as a form of petty revenge for the incident prior. " And don't worry, the nun herself agreed to it. She was more than happy to stay with her saviour."

Tsubaki entered the room as Uryuu left it, moving near her king, clearly having some questions to be answered.

"Was that truly the best decision?" Tsubaki looked at her king, dead in her eyes. Asking something that has been on her mind since last night. " Choosing practically a stranger over your oldest friend."

" I didn't choose anyone over anyone, I just had a minor argument with Rias." Sona looked at the door, through which Uryuu left. "Besides what kind of king would I be if I can't help fulfill my own peerage's wishes."

"Despite Lady Rias's circumstance?"

" Yes despite her circumstance, I don't own the nun to allow Rias to reincarnate her." Sona pushed her glasses upward, remembering Rias how asked her if she could reincarnate the nun at the time.

" Especially considering the fact that the nun herself desires to stay a human."

"Besides it's not like she hasn't had the opportunity to turn her circumstances around."

"Lord Riser is simply stronger than her and has more experience in Rating game. It also doesn't help, her bishop is compromised." Tsubaki added her own input, which were valid points." And there's the fact that Lady Rias's father also agreed to this betrothal."

"Come now Tsubaki, you don't truly believe that?" Sona looked at her queen, eyebrows raised. "The thing that makes Riser a dangerous foe is thanks to his bloodline, and Rias has two in her peerage with certain blood lines that could help her overcome the odds."

This wasn't something Tsubaki could deny, Akeno Himejima carried within her the blood of one of the Cardre and had the possibility to use the same power as her father, the power of Light and Holy lightning.

Whereas the other one, Koneko Toujou formerly belonged to a race of high-level Youkais, and one individual showed the capability of Nekoshou by eliminating her own king.

" As for the past of those individuals, Rias had ample time to help them overcome those."

Once again she couldn't deny that fact, for is she knew she herself would be used as an example.

She too belonged to one of the Five Principals Clan, ostracised for possessing something she did choose to be born with. Something she had hated for a time, till her king helped her accept the hate and move forward rather than being bound to it in past.

"Then again I don't really blame her, she probably doesn't want to risk her relation with her peerage, boy possibly overstepping any boundaries."

An: a short chapter really, and the church incident will be explained shown through fash back.

And note Tsubaki most likely doesn't know if Akeno can use Holy lightning or not.

Also if it wasn't clear Asia didn't die, this time around.
