Reina: What?!
Rin: You heard me right, we're going to Kenji's house.
Reina: Why?
Rin: I should be asking you why.
Reina: Because of what?
Rin: Because of Kenji.
Reina: Kenji?
Rin: You kept him a secret from us.
Reina: Us?
Rin: Me and your dad. Why didn't you tell us about him?
Reina: Last time I checked, you never cared to listen about how my day went at school.
Rin: Because there was no use hearing about your miserable day.
Reina: Okay, so now there's use of hearing about my "miserable day". Let me guess, Kenji?
Rin: No darling, not only him but his whole family.
Reina: So you're taking advantage of their kindness and hospitality towards me for your own personal gains?
Rin: I'm doing this for us.
Reina: Us?! I don't want this- I don't want their money. I only like Kenji because he's nice and not because he's rich. And I can't do that, it's soo low class.
Rin: Darling, you're already a low class.
Reina: Stop calling me that! It's annoying!!
Rin: Stop me.
Reina: You know what? I'm not going to visit Kenji anymore. You and Dad can go without me.
Rin: No, you're coming or no dinner for you and your allowance will be cut off for a month.
Reina: What?!
Rin: You heard me right, stop acting dumb. Even if you're very dum, I thought you'd understand this. Let's be real, Reina. Kenji's family are rich, fancy and high class. And we're poor, plain and low class. It wouldn't be bad if they gave us some money. They'd be helping us recover from your cause.
Reina: My cause?
Rin: Yes, your cause. You're the reason we're poor.
Reina: You all should stop blaming me for your mistakes. You and dad didn't make enough arrangements for my birth so we ran low on cash because of your failure to plan and now you're blaming it on me. At least take responsibility for your actions.
Rin: Well you should also take responsibility of your actions. You brought poverty to our family and now, you'll get rid of it using Kenji as a pawn.
Reina: No, I won't do that!
Rin: Don't worry, I'll let you drown in poverty alone without dragging me and your dad with you. Just go and be as useless as you've ever been, I don't need your help, I'll do it myself. You're so ungrateful for everything I've done for you. You'd be nothing without me. I regret having you from the day you were born.
As she hurled the words at me, I felt like I was relieving the same nightmare. I stood frozen, my eyes locked on hers, as the familiar pain washed over me.
Another day, another lecture, another reminder of how worthless I am to her. Her words were a worn-out script, one I'd heard countless of times. "Here we go again", I thought, as the familiar ache settled in.
But then, I felt something flinch inside me and i started feeling different emotions all at once.
Rin: Get lost you good for nothing.
Reina:(Shouting) Shut-up! I hate you, mom!! I HATE YOU!!!
Rin: I hate you too.
As she said those words, I felt my heart shatter. I knew she'd always been acting like she didn't like me but I didn't know she'd actually have the guts- the mind to tell her own flesh and blood that she hated her. And you all might be like "Didn't you say it first?". Well I only said it because she treated me horribly and wanted me to take advantage of the relationship between me and Kenji, so I said it and trust me, you'd have done the same if you were in my shoes.
I ran up to my room, bursting in tears, trying hard to forget what she had just said but it was impossible. It sticked to my head and broke me and became a part of me.
After I cried, I realised, "Why was I crying because of a stupid, selfish and money loving witch?".
I wiped my tears and got dressed only for her to yell at me again.
Rin: What is this?
Reina: I totally forgot you're an illiterate, but this is what we call a dress.
Rin: This is garbage.
Reina: Um, I should be telling you since you're the one who got it for me.
Rin: Do you want them to know we're poor at first glance?
Reina: I think you'll already make it clear to them since you're going to beg them for money. After all, that's all you care about, money.
Rin: Go get changed right now, or we'll go without you.
Reina: Sounds good to me. Go on, leave me.
Rin: Just go put something on, other than this.
Reina: Humph! I'm only going because I want to see Kenji.
That woman! Who does she think she is?
Anyways, I got dressed and came out of my room, then I realised something.
Reina: Wait a minute. Where did you guys get these clothes? I thought you were just too poor to buy new clothes.
Rin: None of your business. Come on, let's go. The car is waiting for us.
Reina: Car?
Rin: Kenji's mom sent one of her drivers to pick us up in their fancy car.
Reina: What?
Rin: You should be happy she sent a car to pick us up, cause I planned on using your next month's allowance to pay for the taxi.
Reina: As selfish as always, you never change.
Rin: Quit whining. After all, you're the reason we're going to see them. Now, let's go.
