No sooner had his voice faded than the Ghost King rushed forward, followed closely by the woman.
"Joker, cover our rear." The Kirin pushed the Joker forward, while he himself quickly dashed into the nearby woods.
A peculiar smile was on the Joker's face, but not a hint of anger at being used as a human shield. Having taken a palm strike from the woman earlier, a faint red glint showed in the Joker's eyes, like a wounded beast.
Racing through the woods, Kirin didn't even once look back. In his eyes, if his underlings died, they died; as long as he lived, all sacrifices had meaning.
