Chapter 386: Power Surge, Entering the Western Demonic Region
A wave of darkness rolled in from the horizon, filled with a thick killing aura as it drew near. Finally, four demon corpses appeared in front of the Fire Division disciples, who could now clearly see them.
The corpses were skeletal and dry, with skin so taut and hard it looked as if it were cast from black iron, and an ominous gleam flowed across it. An intense killing aura radiated from them, while their hollow, crimson eyes held no hint of humanity. These ancient beings had been completely corrupted into humanoid demons by the dark energy of the land.
"Very well, Mo Ying, I leave these four demon corpses to you," Lin Langtian said, turning to Mo Ying.
"Yes, Master." Mo Ying nodded obediently, then mounted the Divine Desolation Ox Beast puppet. Together, they charged forward like an unstoppable war machine.
"Roar!" The four demon corpses, sensing the oncoming attack, let out low growls as the red light in their eyes blazed even more intensely. In an instant, they shot forward in a streak of black light.
Bang!
The massive Beast puppet, under Mo Ying's control, collided fiercely with the claws of the demon corpses. A sharp metallic clang echoed as the impact sent a shockwave across the landscape, creating huge cracks in the ground like a spider's web. The force caused the massive Desolation Ox to shudder, retreating several paces, while the demon corpses, unable to withstand the force, also staggered back.
Swish, swish, swish!
Barely giving the beast puppet a moment, the four demon corpses rushed forward again, their claws turning into dark, lethal energy blades aimed directly at Mo Ying.
Mo Ying leapt from the Desolation Ox, unleashing a powerful blast of dark energy that struck the nearest demon corpse, forcing it to stagger. The energy snaked around its body, seeping into its skin and dampening its killing aura, weakening its relentless attacks.
Taking advantage of the moment, the Desolation Ox launched another assault. It charged forward, its massive legs like dark pillars smashing into the four demon corpses with tremendous force.
Boom!
The demon corpses were thrown back several meters, leaving deep trenches in the ground. Yet, even after such a severe blow, they simply shuddered and began to rise again.
"Such a resilient body," Song Yun muttered in awe, watching the scene. "Even a peak Nine-Yuan Nirvana cultivator would struggle to withstand that attack, and yet these corpses seem unaffected."
The sheer toughness of these demon corpses exceeded that of even the most powerful Nirvana cultivators. They were nearly indestructible.
Watching them stand again, Mo Ying's crimson eyes flashed coldly. He remounted the beast puppet, directing it to launch another devastating strike at the corpses.
Crash!
Once again, the bodies of the demon corpses flew back. But this time, before they could rise, the beast puppet's massive hoof came crashing down, generating a powerful force that sent chunks of earth flying.
"Savage Beast Trample!" Mo Ying's cold voice echoed as the ground split open to reveal a large crater. But even after being buried in the earth, the demon corpses remained undeterred. Lin Langtian could feel that they hadn't been dealt any serious damage yet; it was as if they were impossible to kill.
Sure enough, moments later, dirt and stone scattered as the four corpses clawed their way back to the surface. Their hollow, red eyes sent chills through those who saw them.
"Senior Brother, these things are relentless! Will Mo Ying be alright?" Mo Tie asked, concerned. He had fought alongside Mo Ying before, but seeing the terrifying endurance of these corpses made him worry.
Lin Langtian's sharp gaze narrowed as he studied the corpses. He then focused on their dantian areas, where faint glimmers of light indicated their cores—likely the key to defeating them. However, their dried, black skin shielded the cores like an impenetrable armor.
"Don't worry; Mo Ying can handle it," Lin Langtian assured them, confident in Mo Ying's strength. Equipped with the beast puppet, Mo Ying could certainly handle the four demon corpses, especially with his hidden demon mark.
Just then, a sudden shift occurred on the battlefield. With a piercing howl, Mo Ying unleashed a surge of malicious energy that enveloped the sky. All eyes turned toward him as they watched a dark rune appear on his forehead, glowing menacingly.
"He's activated the demon mark," Lin Langtian muttered, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
The demon mark brought Mo Ying's power to a new peak. If he'd been at half-step Profound Life Realm before, he was now as powerful as a true Profound Life Realm master.
With a feral growl, Mo Ying lunged at the corpses, his speed and strength amplified by the mark.
Boom!
Dark shadows twisted through the air, thick with killing intent, as the four demon corpses arrived before the Fire Division disciples. Now that they were close, the disciples could see the corpses clearly.
Each demon corpse was skeletal and dried, its body devoid of moisture but hardened to an almost indestructible black iron-like shell. A chilling, murderous aura radiated from them, and in their deep-set crimson eyes, there was no trace of human emotion. These ancient warriors had become soulless, monstrous beings corrupted by the dark energy of the Demon Domain.
"Alright, Mo Ying, I'll leave these four demon corpses to you," Lin Langtian instructed, his eyes focused on the enemy.
"Yes, Master." Mo Ying nodded and mounted the Desolation Ox Beast puppet. He charged forward with the beast, moving like an unstoppable war machine.
"Roar!" The four demon corpses growled low, their crimson eyes flaring, as they turned into streaks of dark light and shot forward to clash with Mo Ying.
Boom!
The massive beast puppet collided with the claws of the demon corpses. The impact created an explosion of energy, sending shockwaves rippling across the landscape and forming deep cracks in the ground. The beast puppet staggered back a few steps under the force, but the demon corpses were also forced back, clearly struggling against this powerful adversary.
Swish, swish, swish!
Mo Ying seized the opportunity, shooting dark energy chains toward the corpses, which quickly wrapped around them and began to bind them tightly.
Creak!
The demon corpses strained against the chains, but the more they struggled, the tighter the chains constricted, until they were completely immobilized.
"Mo Ying, retrieve the Profound Life Core Pearls!" Lin Langtian shouted.
In response, Mo Ying's figure flashed forward and struck at the abdomen of each demon corpse with swift, precise blows, his blackened arm piercing through their stomachs and retrieving white, glowing orbs from within.
Boom!
The moment the white orbs were removed, the demon corpses, which had been brimming with killing intent, lost their red glow and collapsed to the ground, lifeless once again.
Lin Langtian approached, gazing at the four glowing orbs in Mo Ying's hand with satisfaction. "Four Profound Life Core Pearls. This is a valuable harvest," he murmured, his lips curling into a smile. The corpses themselves, powerful assets, would also be invaluable.
Mo Ying, understanding Lin Langtian's intentions, infused his demonic energy into each corpse's skull.
Hiss! Hiss!
As Mo Ying's energy seeped into their heads, the corpses began to emit an intense dark energy. It converged in the corpses' skulls, radiating in dark waves and marking Mo Ying's control over them.
"Rise," Mo Ying commanded.
The corpses slowly rose to their feet, eyes dull but controlled. Song Yun and the other disciples, having rushed over, instinctively flinched, but seeing the corpses obey Mo Ying's command, they breathed sighs of relief.
"These corpses will now serve as puppets for the Fire Division," Lin Langtian explained, calming their fears.
The disciples looked at the four corpses in awe and disbelief. It was one thing to craft simple puppets, but these demon corpses were infused with the dark energy of the Demon Domain. Without extreme skill, attempting to control them would lead to insanity and death. But somehow, Lin Langtian had tamed them, effectively turning these half-step Profound Life-level corpses into their allies.
"Master, you're incredible!" Song Yun and the others exclaimed with admiration. The fact that Lin Langtian had not only neutralized the threat but also gained powerful assets only deepened their loyalty.
"Alright, now let's move out." Lin Langtian's eyes brightened as he summoned a glowing map in the air before him.
"An ancient treasure map?" Song Yun asked, his eyes wide.
"This map shows the location of a treasure hidden within the Demon Domain," Lin Langtian replied, pointing to a highlighted spot on the map. "That's our next destination."
The disciples nodded in understanding. Song Yun added, "According to this map, our path takes us west, toward an ancient treasure trove known as the Temple of the Goddess. There may be other groups vying for it as well."
"After obtaining these demon corpses, the Fire Division is well-prepared," Lin Langtian said confidently. "If anyone dares to oppose us, we'll crush them."
With a wave of his sleeve, Lin Langtian recalled the beast puppet and the four demon corpses into a pocket dimension within his relic, concealing his full strength.
"Move out!" Lin Langtian led the group westward, with Song Yun, Pang Lie, Mo Tie, and the rest of the Fire Division disciples following closely behind as they flew toward the ancient land.
The journey to the treasure was long, even at their top speed, and took nearly ten days. Luckily, they encountered few monsters as formidable as the demon corpses, and when they did face foes, their teamwork grew more seamless with each encounter. The strength of his core fighters, including Song Yun, also improved steadily, pushing them closer to the Nine-Yuan Nirvana level.
With their growth, Lin Langtian's faction in Yuan Gate would truly be able to compete for dominance.
As they traveled, the Fire Division occasionally ran into other disciples from notable Eastern Profound Domain sects. While these sects didn't match the strength of Yuan Gate, they were still considered elite forces. Small clashes broke out, though they rarely escalated; Lin Langtian's reputation as the "Little Flame King" and his decisive nature were enough to deter any troublemakers.
With each day, the disciples of the Fire Division grew stronger. Ten days of constant fighting had honed their skills, and soon they arrived in the mysterious western region of the Demon Domain.
