Perhaps so! They have long known how to proceed, perhaps they have long known what they are sacrificing for, and perhaps so! They have long known what they have to achieve in order to obtain all of this.
Since they have already obtained these things, they cannot go on to do something else. Since they have obtained what they desire, they cannot receive more. What they are willing to do is their own business; it has nothing to do with others. What they are willing to achieve is their own rightful possession, with no demands from others.
