Hazel's pale, fragile face flickered in Orson's mind, and his brows tightened. "How could it possibly be her?"
The gods had sworn to trade a single life for peace across a world. To Orson, it sounded absurd.
Hazel… apart from that angelic face and the kind of figure that left a man staring, she had never seemed exceptional.
"Where is she now?" Orson asked quietly. "And… what was Sienna's advice?"
He hesitated. His sister Sienna now led the Godslayer Alliance. He worried she might think only of Earth's survival, and make the cold, "logical" choice.
Because when Hazel had first appeared, she'd risen to instant stardom under Sienna's hand, becoming the radiant white moonlight in the hearts of countless Earth adventurers.
Including Orson himself.
"She ran off with Sienna. What else?"
Bradley gave Orson a baffled look. "You don't seriously think we'd cave, do you? They want us to hand someone over? Screw that. I'd rather crush every last one of them."
