Chapter 417 - Chapter 417: Unseen Shifts

"Speaking of which, we won't end up as wanted criminals, right?" Quicksilver asked uneasily. "That rich guy won't sue us, will he?"

Shin couldn't help but laugh. "Why are you thinking about this now? I remember you charged in pretty fast earlier."

"Uh," Quicksilver tilted his head. "I didn't really think it through at the time."

"Don't worry. Although you two will definitely show up on the radar of some classified agencies, it's unlikely you'll be publicly wanted. And Tony Stark can't afford to look that petty."

"Besides, with Stark's personality, he's not the type to go after two young people blinded by grief."

"That's hard to say. How many rich people actually have a good heart these days?" Quicksilver muttered. "And you're a young guy too... you look even younger than us."

Shin was slightly stunned. He still appeared to be around eighteen or nineteen years old. Due to his training in the pirate world, he was a bit taller than average, close to 1.95 meters, and gave off an imposing presence.

But thanks to his naturally youthful features, common among East Asians, his appearance didn't seem older than twenty-one or twenty-two.

Although Wanda and Pietro were technically younger, Pietro was tall with silver hair, and Wanda had a mature figure, both of them appeared older than Shin.

If not for his composed temperament, most people would assume he was the youngest.

Shaking his head, Shin said, "I'm actually much older than you two. Probably around twenty-five or twenty-six."

But having constantly shifted between the One Piece and Naruto worlds, Shin truly had no idea how old he was anymore.

Wanda and Pietro weren't surprised. They were accustomed to the youthful features of East Asians. In fact, without facial hair, some thirty-year-olds could pass for teenagers to most Westerners.

Besides, they'd already met Thor, who was over a thousand years old, the Ancient One, who had lived for centuries, and even Apocalypse, who had slumbered since ancient Egypt. Age no longer held much significance for them.

If Shin had claimed to be four or five thousand years old, maybe they'd have reacted more.

"Come on, let's head to the Fisk Towers. That's my turf now."

With that, Shin led them out of the empty alley. He never placed Flying Thunder God marks in obvious spots or inside the Fisk Towers.

But they weren't far. After walking for about two minutes, they arrived.

"Huh? Interesting." Shin's expression shifted as his Observation Haki swept across the entire building. "Didn't see that coming."

"What is it?" Wanda asked, eyeing him curiously.

"Nothing major. I just didn't expect things to spiral out of control like this. Stay close and be alert," Shin warned.

"Don't tell me someone's taken over your base? A superpowered enemy?" Wanda asked warily.

"No... it's more like the guy I had under mind control, Wilson, is no longer under control."

Wanda and Pietro exchanged glances. Something about that statement sounded... villainous.

Both of them had good intentions at heart, so Wanda asked cautiously, "What do you mean exactly...?"

Shin sighed. "I finally found someone I could control without worrying about the consequences. But I didn't expect Wilson to break free and now he's waiting to ambush me inside."

"Honestly, I'm not surprised he wants to ambush you," Pietro muttered. "Mind control's kind of messed up."

"Relax, Wilson was carefully selected." Shin shook his head. "That guy's a fake philanthropist, on the surface, he's a businessman. But in reality, he's the leader of New York's underworld. At least half of the city's heroes have beef with him."

"Even so, brainwashing people isn't exactly noble..." Wanda murmured hesitantly.

Shin rolled his eyes.

You brainwashed an entire town in the movies. In the comics, it's even worse. You're neck and neck with the Phoenix when it comes to top-tier teammate-sabotaging mutants. Brainwashing the whole planet isn't even shocking for you and now you're judging me?

"Alright, let's table that discussion." Shin waved it off. "Maybe I'll show you just how dirty this guy's hands are."

"Let's head into the Fisk Towers first."

"Wait—didn't you just say it's full of traps?" Quicksilver said, surprised.

"Doesn't matter. Those traps might stop lions and wild boars, but they're useless against dragons in the sky."

With that, Shin led them inside.

At first glance, the building appeared unchanged. The staff still greeted Shin respectfully. But once they reached the top floor, a faint smirk appeared on Shin's face.

"Heh. Space stabilizers, huh? Not bad. I wonder where Kingpin got access to this kind of black tech."

With that, he pushed the door open and stepped inside.

Kingpin had changed. He looked even more imposing his once bulky frame now sharp with defined muscle. His suit clung tightly to his body, radiating the aura of a brutal and dominant powerhouse.

"Long time no see, Kingpin. You've put together quite a show," Shin said, smiling.

Despite the calm exterior, Shin had already detected numerous strong life signatures within the room.

His Observation Haki slowly extended outward, and he murmured, "So that's the Hand's five fingers... and this dark aura—Black Sky?"

"Hmm... who are those three? And there's Bullseye. One of them seems like a fusion of two life forms... and the other one… reeks of sand. So these are your trump cards?"

Shin turned his gaze on Kingpin with an amused look.

Kingpin remained silent. He had hoped to ambush Shin, but within seconds, his opponent had already seen through everything.

Resigned, Kingpin didn't even reach for the cane full of hidden tech. Instead, he slowly removed his white suit.
